Scam was a result of a well-designed scam.
What is S2Trade?
S2 Trade stands for S SquareTrade. They are officially owned by GoldTech Media OÜ, which is
located in Estonia. They started their operations in May 2017. Even though they are based in
Estonia, they have investors all around the globe. Traders at S2Trade can use MetaTrader 4,
MT4 Tablet, and the MT4 Android and iOS apps for mobile trading. S2Trade boasted of carrying
out more than 200 Forex and currency pairs, commodities (gold, silver, and oil), indices (both
major and minor), and shares. However, since any regulatory authority does not regulate them,
they are a potential scam.
With leverage going as high as 200:1 and commission ranging from $2 to $8 for every
$100,000. As per the account type, the spread ranges from 0.1 to 2.5. A minimum deposit of
$500 is required to open an account in S2Trade, with a maximum amount of $50,000. Their
website is available in several languages, including English, Russian, Arabic, German, and
Italian.
How did S2Trade pull up the Scam?
S2Trade had operations running from Estonia; however, their phone numbers originated from
the United Kingdom. On further investigation, it was observed that the numbers originating from
the UK were, in fact, virtual numbers. It was also observed that the parent company GoldTech
Media OÜ is a shell company that has created fake websites to act like legitimate FX brokers.
Since a regulator did not regulate the firm, nor did it have a legitimate address, recovery of
funds invested by the investors was next to impossible. They would also deny the investors from
withdrawing money for their accounts.
Reactions of S2Trade Scammed Investors.
Reviews listed on the S2Trade are filled with negative comments. This should provide a red flag
for any future investors. Even the firm's previous investors have unanimously agreed that
S2Trade is not worth it as it is not legitimate. Most of the complaints were regarding the denial of
withdrawal requests or market manipulations. However, few did manage to get back their
money, while the rest were ripped off.
