1. Should Christians Celebrate
Halloween?

2. Anyone who considers themselves to be a Christian, that is - one
who believes in the God of the Bible, and is washed clean of sin
because of the Blood that our Messiah - Jesus, the Son of God
shed for us at the Cross of Calvary (Who has forgiven and
acquitted us of sin because of His sacrifice - His death and
Resurrection), should NOT celebrate Halloween or have
anything to do with it.
Why not?
“They have overcome him by the Blood of the Lamb and by the Word
of their testimony and they did not love their lives unto death “
Revelation 12:11

3. •Halloween is an abomination to God, because, rather than
worshipping Him, it promotes and celebrates the worship of
all kinds of evil and darkness which are rooted in :
•Druidism and Celtic Pagan practices
•The Occult, Horror and threatening Violence
•The worship of the devil (Satan) and his works including
•Witchcraft, Divination, Sorcery and Fortune-telling
•Communicating with spirits using psychics or mediums
• Worshipping the dead (which is the sin of necromancy)
•Human and animal ritual sacrifice – fire, blood & death

4. • Halloween is derived from a Pagan festival called
Samhain which the Celts celebrated c. 2000 years ago.
• The Celts were pagans who worshipped idols such as the
sun, moon, stars, earth, the dead (the creation instead
of the Creator).
• They believed that on the night of 31 October a portal
between the world of the living and the world of the
dead opened, and the spirits of the dead would roam
the earth looking for sacrifice.

5. • The people would sacrifice burnt offerings to these
spirits and dress up in evil costumes to ward off the
spirits from attacking them.
• They would carve an evil face on a gourd and put a
light in it to scare off the spirits from their home and
leave out food offerings for them. All this was based
on the belief that if the people appeased the evil
spirits they would not harm them.

6. •This is a pagan belief system and is totally contrary to
Christianity, which is founded upon worshipping ONLY God, the
Creator of the heavens and the earth, and believing in His Son
Jesus, receiving His FREE gift of Salvation and protection
through our faith in His Blood that washed away our sins and
made us righteous (as though we had never sinned)....
•We have right-standing with God through faith in the sacrifice
that Jesus made, when He laid down His life to redeem us from
Satan’s control and reconciled us back to Father God.

7. •God will never harm His children. But our enemy the devil seeks to destroy God’s
people at every available opportunity. He comes to kill, to steal and to destroy (John
10:10). Among his strongest weapons are Accusations, Guilt, Shame and Fear.
Fear is the opposite of Faith.
•Jesus gave us His authority over Satan and his demons, and we are not to fear or
appease the devil, as Jesus defeated him for us at the Cross. If you celebrate
Halloween you are coming into agreement with the pagan practices that Halloween is
based upon whether you want to or not, and thus you open a door to demonic
oppression giving the devil legal access to your life, and you come out from under the
protection of God as a result.

8. “When you come into the land that the LORD your God is giving
you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of
those nations.
There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or
his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or
tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a
medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for
whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD.”
Deuteronomy 18:9-12

9. “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of
demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the
table of demons.” 1st Corinthians 10:21

10. “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but
instead expose them.” (Ephesians 5:11)
“Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from
every form of evil.” (1st Thessalonians 5:21-22)

11.  God is very clear in His Word about how we, His people are to
separate from darkness, which is the devil’s playground
and have nothing to do with it!
“Come out from
among them
and be separate,
says the Lord.
Touch no
unclean thing, and
I will receive you.”
2 Corinthians 6:17

12. Don’t blindly follow the crowd friend – God created you unique with your
own mind and free will. Ask Him to show you what the Truth is
and He will answer you!
Call to Me and I will answer you I will be with you in
trouble; I will deliver you and honour you. Psalm 91:15

13. • When we part-take even in seemingly innocent things, that do not magnify the
Lordship of Jesus Christ, but worship or give place to idolatry, evil or darkness
then we are opening the door and inviting Satan and his demons to enter into our
lives, our homes and the lives of our children to the third and fourth generations.
• This is why curse, sickness, accidents, mental stress and tragedies often beset
families for generations – because somewhere in the family line a door has been
opened to the devil giving him access to bring demonic attacks against your
family.
• You have the power to stop this when you call upon Jesus, ask Him to be Lord of
your life, submit to His Word and obey it - coming under the New Covenant as
God’s child washed and cleansed by the Blood His Son shed for you.

14. Pray aloud...
Father God I come to You as I am. I ask You to forgive me for all my sins.
Thank You for sending Your Son Jesus to die in my place on the
Cross to pay the penalty due to me for my sin. Lord Jesus I ask You
to come into my heart and be Lord of my life. Heal me and cleanse
me from every evil.
I renounce Satan and all his works and I shut every door where he has
gained access to my life and the lives of my children. I forgive
anyone who has hurt me in any way, and I release myself from
every hurt and wound they have caused me.
Lord, I ask You to lead me into the truth of Your Word. Teach me Your
ways and fill me with Your Holy Spirit and Your Peace, and lead me
always. I dedicate my life and my family to You Father in the name
of Jesus my Saviour. I declare that as for me and my house, we shall
serve You - the Living God. I am now a child of God safe in Your
Love, filled with Your Peace and protected from all harm because of
the blood of Jesus forevermore. Amen.
