Gidi Shemer is a lecturer and advisor in the Department of Biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his PhD in Biology from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in 2002. Since then, he has held various positions at UNC Chapel Hill including postdoctoral fellow, visiting lecturer, and lecturer-advisor. Shemer has received numerous teaching awards for his work advising and teaching undergraduate students. He currently directs several academic programs at UNC and serves on various departmental and university committees related to teaching and advising.
