The study investigated the bikeability of two proposed bike routes on the Shasta College campus by collecting data at waypoints along each route. Route 1 had 21 waypoints while Route 2 had 15. Data on trees, people, buildings, and vehicles within 50 feet were collected at each waypoint using a GPS unit. Preliminary results found both routes had trees along them but Route 1 had more tree canopy. Route 2 encountered vehicular traffic over a longer stretch than Route 1. Route 1 had more pedestrian traffic in front of buildings. The study aims to help determine the best bike route by comparing the routes' beauty, traffic, and convenience factors, though the methodology had some issues to address.
