Her career has included positions in pediatric hospitals, organ procurement, and home health care. She currently works as a research study coordinator at Akron Children's Hospital, where she oversees various clinical studies.
Dolly E. Cooper is a paramedic and registered nurse for the Chicago Fire Department. Ms. Cooper has been in the industry and working for the organization for 25 years. She has become an integral member of the fire department’s staff, as well as the Chicago community. Viewed as an expert in her field, Ms. Cooper specializes in nurse consultation and day care. She spends her days serving 16 day cares in Chicago that require an RN on staff. Ms. Cooper observes the staff working with the infants and toddlers, and does in services-infection control, sanitation, hand washing, and diaper changing. She also trains with staff and checks files for up to date immunizations. Ms. Cooper is well-respected for her commitment and hard work, and attributes the success she has experienced throughout her career to her passion for her profession. The need for real-time access to outcomes data is well-recognized. However, providers, payers, and patients lack access to timely and relevant outcomes data to support informed decision-making and comparisons across providers and over time. To help address these gaps, MD Anderson initiated a project to develop patient-centered outcome measures and to integrate data collection within the electronic health record (EHR) in 2014.
