This document provides an overview of various innovative circular projects that Rijkswaterstaat is collaborating on with SGS INTRON. It discusses a unique pilot project on the Afsluitdijk where large concrete blocks made with 13 different innovative concrete mixtures will be monitored for at least 10 years. SGS INTRON is playing an important role by overseeing production of the blocks and inspecting them. The mixtures range from conventional to highly experimental and include reused aggregates and geopolymers as cement replacements to reduce CO2 emissions. The goal is to accelerate promising innovations and gather experience to help meet ambitious sustainability targets.
