Setting goals is important for employees and businesses to succeed. There are two parts to being a successful business leader: envisioning dreams and plans for the future, and ensuring those plans become reality through goal-setting and achievement. Goals should be SMART - specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timed. Specific goals provide clarity and motivation, measurable goals allow progress tracking, achievable goals are challenging but not impossible, realistic goals are in line with one's values and purpose, and setting deadlines provides motivation to work towards accomplishing goals.
