Seoul has served as the capital of Korea for over 500 years, originally called Han Yang before being renamed by Japanese occupiers. It is located along the Han River and has a population of over 10 million people living within its 605 square kilometer area, making it one of the most densely populated cities in the world. The city has four distinct seasons and receives on average 52.93 inches of precipitation annually.

Statistical information about SeoulHistory of SeoulAt the beginning of Josen dynasty ( 500 years ago) they moved there capital to Han Yang ( which is now Seoul) form Korea ( which is the country before Josen).Japanese invaded Korea and renamed our capital city Han Yang to Seoul.They made their capital Seoul, because the land was flat and it was easy to trade with transportation of Han river.

4. Environmental FactsFour gates cover each part of Seoul. North gate, South gate, East gate, and West gate. But, unfortunately the South gate is burnt. ( A crazy man who had complains to the government burnt it in 2009)Han river is located in Seoul. Han river is the longest river in Korea which is 514km!! Korea has all four seasons Summer, Spring, Fall and Winter.

5. Statistical InformationSeoul is the world second city of population. Over 10million people live in Seoul!The area of Seoul is 605.52km2 which is quite small for 10 million people to live in.‘WON’ is the currency we use in Seoul. The average precipitation in a year is 52.93 inch.
