11. Connections
Robert F. Card
Agentic shift, where individual
actors need to have moral
responsibility.
Differences exist among
persons, they have different
abilities, capacities, goals, know
ledge and opportunities.
We have to become active
individuals who help the
community that surround us.
They deserve opportunities and
support.
WE (Universidad de los Andes)
Stiglitz
Portion of the population with
less income and wealth
Self-interest is to appreciate
that of paying attention to the
interest of all, not only self
welfare.
Take actions on helping others
and more important, those who
have less than us.
12. Connections
Masaka‟s article ‘Why enforcing
CST in morally questionable‟ a
corporate organization does not
operate in a vacuumbut in a
society that it influences in great
many ways.
He says corporate organizations
might possible integrate CSR
strategies into their businesses
models if they where to voluntarily
adopt it rather tan to be coerced to
do so.
A guy arrives at Progresa Fenicia
claiming his rights to stand in Los Andes
streets, as he was moved by a security.
The lady in charge gave him free tickets
to go to cinema.
From Paul C. Godfrey article „The
relationship between corporate
philanthropy and shareholder
wealth: a risk management
perspective’
Corporate philanthropy can generate
positive moral capital among
communities and stakeholders.
Progresa Fenicia program gives
Los Andes intangible value and
wealth.
Los Andes being one of the biggest
educational institutions of the
country it needs to give back to the
community, and more so
Fenicia, being the university THEIR
community.
It gives stakeholders, moral
wealth, as of the clear social action
that is being taken place.
13. Connections
Stiglitz One of the most important costs imposed for society by
the Top 1% is the erosion of our sense of identity
No equity, no fairplay, no sense of community
Progresa Fenicia- breaking those barriers
McGann & Johnstone Lack of accountability weakens NGOs-
“no transparency”- no one can controll them.
Lack of control and monitor in Casa Fenicia
Are volunteers accountable?
Doorey “Enforcing corporations to publicly report on performance
indicators, that can reflect financial and ethical management of a
company- might encourage managers to IMPROVE their
standards.
