The document discusses the relationship between interior design and set design for films and television shows. It explains that set designers have backgrounds in architecture and interior design, which allows them to transform spaces to create different settings and worlds. Popular shows like Friends and Seinfeld had homey interior designs that viewers found relatable. Epic films like Lord of the Rings were also able to bring imaginary worlds to life through exceptional set design. Overall, interior design skills are crucial for set designers to establish moods and immerse audiences in new environments through creative use of space.

- Irn-Bru is produced by AG Barr and first launched in 1901. It is Scotland's best-selling soft drink.
- The drink has a distinctive orange color and flavor described as "girders" (iron) mixed with "Bru" (brewed). This comes from its original recipe containing iron and caffeine.
- Advertising plays a big role in Irn-Bru's identity and brand image. Campaigns often feature exaggerated Scottish stereotypes and humor. Some memorable ads include the "Irn-Bru Effect"
Irn-Bru is a popular Scottish soft drink that has been produced since 1901, known for its distinctive orange color and use of Scottish themes in long-running advertising campaigns promoting its ability to "get you through", with slogans like "Made in Scotland from girders". The packaging and logo for Irn-Bru has evolved over the decades but maintains its orange and blue color scheme and references to Scottish strength and identity in various mascots and symbols used on bottles and cans.
The Heartbreak Kid is a comedy film starring Bill Stiller about a man named Eddie who rushes into marriage with his new girlfriend Lila, only to discover on their honeymoon that she is awful and crazy. While trying to hide his new marriage from his dream girl Miranda, Eddie finds himself in hilarious predicaments. The film is directed by the Farrelly Brothers and is loosely based on a 1975 film of the same name. It is expected to be another comedy hit from the duo known for films like There's Something About Mary and Dumb and Dumber.

Gameful Design: Creating Passionate Customers and CoworkersSebastian Deterding
The document discusses gameful design and how it can be used to create passionate customers and coworkers through intrinsic motivation. It advocates designing systems that allow users to experience competence through meaningful challenges, autonomy through meaningful choices, and relatedness through a sense of community. Rather than using extrinsic motivators like rewards that can be corrupted, the document argues for focusing on supporting users' innate psychological needs for competence, autonomy, and relatedness through gameful systems that encourage exploration, mastery, benign transgression, and mutual care. The goal is to move away from shallow extrinsic motivations and instead create truly meaningful experiences that cultivate passion.
The document is a resume and portfolio for Susan Gross, a graphic designer with over 25 years of experience. It summarizes her skills and experience in graphic design, marketing, print production. Samples of her work are provided representing various projects she has completed over her career in different industries. She invites the reader to contact her to discuss their graphic design needs.
George Wilson undergoes the most significant change in character in The Great Gatsby. At the start, he is described as well-mannered and feminine, but after his wife Myrtle's death, he becomes distraught and deranged. Driven by grief, he deduces that Gatsby was responsible for Myrtle's death and seeks violent revenge, which leads to Gatsby's murder and Wilson's own suicide. His drastic personality shift from the beginning of the novel highlights how grief and insanity can transform someone.

The Intriguing Match of Interior Design and the
Silver Screen
Uncategorized
Have any of you been awed by the sight of the throne room in the television series Game of
Thrones? Or what about the dark, chilling, claustrophobia-causing spaces in the Alien movie
franchise? Every movie or TV show has a different feel, and it is up to the set designers to
contribute to this. But set designers aren’t picked up from the streets. They have to be masters of
their craft. A lot of them have backgrounds rooted in architecture and interior design.
Designers can change an empty sound stage into the most futuristic bridge of a space ship that
people have ever seen. They can transform an ordinary garden into the court of royalty. With
simply the addition of certain colors, an ordinary apartment can be turned into the den of a
serial killer.
Let’s take a look at the ultra-popular TV sitcoms Friends and Seinfeld. Ever notice how homey
the interiors of their places looked? For Friends, Monica’s apartment seemed warm even in the
coldest nights. Jerry Seinfeld’s apartment was simple and relatable enough for every struggling
viewer.
On a much larger scale, the sets of the The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and Harry Po er truly
captured the essence of another world inhabited by creatures people only dreamed of.

In case you’re feeling stuck, burning out, or ge ing caught up in the stresses of daily life, there’s
always travel as an option. It’s recommended to take a vacation and have a much needed
change of scenery, but what does packing your bags and ge ing on the road actually do to your
mental well-being? Here are some points to consider, according to Psych Central.

It enhances creativity
Creativity has been linked to neuroplasticity, or how the brain is being wired, so it means your
brain is influenced by experiences and environments you’re in. One way to boost your creative
juices is to immerse yourself somewhere new, engage with the local culture, and embrace the
varying ways to live.
It affects your personality
Since travel gets you out of your comfort zone, it entails adapting to the change, which then
fortifies the “openness” of your personality. This makes you less emotionally reactive to
changes that strike every day and enhances emotional stability. It doesn’t hurt that meeting new
people can make you more agreeable!
It relieves stress
Travel is the great escape, providing the novelty and change you crave in the form of new
sights, sounds, and sensibilities. Freed up from the usual commitments and relationships, you
can reset your body and mind when you get away.
It boosts happiness – even before you go
It’s not only during and after a trip that travel makes you happy. In a study, the mere
anticipation of going on a holiday can boost your mood.
It strengthens relationships

Some Interesting Matchups Between Todays

The Dubs this season have been exemplary. They’ve only lost once in the last 30 games, and are

game, they get to sweep the Cavs, win their 2nd NBA title in 3 years, and do what no other
team has done before – go perfect in the playoffs. They have been the most dominant team of

Decorating Tips To Make Your Old Home

interior design
Interior design (h ps://www.forbes.com/sites/houzz/2015/06/04/10-decorating-tips-for-older-

about what you really love and what suits your home. This is especially true if you have an
older home.
Here’s what you can do to touch-up your old home and bring out its best features.
Celebrate stained glass
If you’re lucky have beautiful stained glass windows, paint your walls white to let them act as

One characteristic of older homes that’s really unique is its vintage trim. In-window shades, as
opposed to hanging drapes, are an excellent way to leave vintage window trim exposed.
Use drapery to conceal awkward windows
Older homes often have unusual window placings. A full wall of drapery is a perfect solution
for this. It subtly cleans up the look of the room without blocking the light altogether.

Combine vintage and trendy designs
Using vintage set pieces in a living room, combined with a large flat screen TV, a computer and
a plush sofa is a good combination that will give your home a unique character.

Apology Bow: What Dogs Are Actually Trying

But there is actually a scientific explanation to this behavior. According to a study
(h ps://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2017/04/17/what-dogs-actually-mean-
when-they-look-guilty-according-science/100565530/) by Nathan H. Lents, a molecular biologist
with the City of University of New York, they have inherited the trait from their wolf relatives.
Wolves are social creatures needing the approval of its peers to feel accepted. When a playful
wolf bites too hard, it will be spurned by the pack for bad behavior, and in order to return and
be accepted again, the wolf must approach with an apology bow.
Dogs will do the same thing after it felt it is being punished. Lents wrote, “As social animals,
they crave harmonious integration in the group and neglect or isolation is painful for them.”

A dog will do its apologetic bow regardless of whether it disobeyed or not, as long as it feels it
is being punished. So the gesture is more of an apology rather than showing a feeling of guilt.
Lents summarizes it as a dog’s way of saying, “Can we be friends again?”

Fort Funston
Regarded by many as the best dog park not just in San Francisco but in the entire world, there
are various sceneries here that both you and your dog would enjoy – from the sand dunes and
beach where pets can run around with each other to the miles of beautiful trails that overlook
the bay.
Fort Funston was previously a harbor defense installation and is a protected area within the
Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Having a stroll there would not just be enjoyable, but is
educational, too.

Bernal Heights Park
One of the most well-regarded dog-friendly parks, this verdant hilltop located on the cliffs

Corona Heights Park
The park itself is a large open hill, paved by dirt and rock and consisting of different trails
where you can walk your dog. It is considered one of the most family-friendly dog-walking
spots in the city because the Randall Museum, located on the south side, is a good place where

A splash of this: How colors in the workplace
influence productivity
ViaFarm
Many factors affect employee productivity. Business executives are taught how to be be er
engaged with their workers along with other leadership qualities. There are also internal
considerations to note. Yet there are external choices to decide on. One of these is the color
scheme (h ps://www.entrepreneur.com/article/243749) of the workplace. Financial studies
show that properly utilizing colors at the office drastically impacts how employees relate to
each other and work. Some generalizations are described below:
Greens and blues: These cool tones make employees feel calm and relaxed. Some medical
surveys even found that the color blue can help lower heart rates and decrease blood pressure.
Green, on the other hand, is easy on the eyes and reduces eyestrain. This is why blackboards in
classrooms are typically painted green. This elementary device can be applied at the
professional level. It must be noted that jewel tones and dark blue can evoke feelings of sadness.
Yellows and oranges: These hues energize employees. Orange makes individuals enthusiastic
while yellow is welcoming and helps stimulate memories. These colors, however, should be
used sparingly in the workplace since orange stimulates appetite and yellow can evoke feelings
of anger or frustration when overdone.
Reds: The bright shade increases brain wave activities and heart rates. As such, it should be
used as an accent color because it can overstimulate employees. Red is a particularly suggested
color for areas where employees work late at night.
19. 3/19/2018 Scott Jay Abraham
https://scottjayabraham.wordpress.com/ 19/26
Neutrals: White, light gray, or cream can help tone down brighter colors. These colors do not
evoke any emotion and are good base colors. Brown can evoke warm feelings but can make a
room look dark.

A Hot Dog: How To Take Care Of a Dachshund
Pets, ViaFarm
Taking care of dogs (or any pet for that ma er) is a huge commitment. So for kids who want to

Dog-proof your house
When you decide to get a dog, the first order of business is to adjust your home for the li le
bugger. Be sure wires are safely plugged or hidden and there aren’t any choking hazards left of
the floor. It’s also important to get all your doggy essentials beforehand like food bowl, pet bed,
and stock up on quality dog food.
Carry them up the stairs (when you can)
This is a breed specific requirement. Because of the Dachshunds’ body structure, they are prone
to back injuries like disk problems. When you can, carry them up the stairs so they won’t have
any back problems as they grow old.

Watch their weight
Despite how cute fat and fluffy dogs are, obese dogs aren’t exactly healthy and can cause many
health risks. This is especially true for this particular breed. Becoming overweight can cause
unwanted back issues so it’s good to watch their diet and also to walk and play with them often.

In a small town in Cabazon, in California, there is a place which takes you far back in time to
the Jurassic period. This roadside a raction is called Cabazon Dinosaurs. Off Interstate 10 in
California, it’s hard not to notice Dinny the brontosaurus, which is actually a concrete building
weighing 150 tons, along with another towering Tyrannosaurus Rex sculpture named Mr. Rex.
Inside Dinny is a gift store and a museum.
In Mojave County, there is Elmer Long’s Bo le Tree Ranch. Elmer Long’s father passed away
and left him with a whole collection of bo les. Not knowing what to do with them, Elmer
decided to build his first bo le tree. It became such a big hit among travellers that today he now
has 200 of them. It’s a choice stop for taking pictures with some of the most beautiful art
installations in the state.
Many have also taken an interest in Bubblegum Alley located in San Luis Obispo. This is largely
due to its extraordinary artistry which tourists themselves can contribute to. This place is a
literal alley which is known for the used bits of bubble gum that are left on it by those who pass
by, creating a colorful display that runs along a 21-meter stretch. Needless to say, there is a stall
here that sells bubblegum which invites tourists to join in on the fun.
