Mrs. Groover will prepare her students for the upcoming FCAT Science exam through direct instruction of science content and vocabulary in whole and small group settings using technology. Students will also learn through hands-on lab experiments. Beginning August 30th, homework will be assigned 1-2 days a week to reinforce content already learned and currently being learned in class.

6. Exception Handling
Exception handling in Java allows programs to gracefully deal with errors and unexpected conditions. There are two types of exceptions: checked exceptions which must be explicitly caught, and unchecked exceptions which do not need to be caught. The try-catch block is used to catch exceptions, where code that might throw an exception is placed in the try block and catch blocks handle specific exceptions. Finally blocks are always executed and can be used to perform cleanup tasks. Science Expectations 2010-2011
- 1. SCIENCE EXPECTATIONS Mrs. Groover • Students will be taking FCAT Science this year. To prepare my students for success, I will be teaching science content and vocabulary in whole group and small learning group settings with the use of technology (computers, Unitedstreaming, Students Response Systems, FCAT Explorer, and others). • Students will also be learning through exploration during the many classroom lab experiments we will do. • Homework will be given one to two days a week on content we have already learned and are currently learning in class, beginning the week of August 30th.
