This document summarizes activities at the Janakpur Zonal Hospital in Nepal from June 2011 to November 2011. It describes training provided to hospital staff on infection prevention, maternal and newborn health, anesthesia, and skilled birth attendance. It also reports on the implementation of quality standards and use of the QI tool at the hospital. Metrics on maternal health services from a 5 month period show totals for admissions, deliveries, C-sections, births, and complications. In-service training was provided to over 200 staff on infection prevention, maternal health, and skilled birth attendance. Implementation of quality standards increased from 39.3% to 78%.
