More than 20,000 children under age 5 die from hunger every day. India ranks second in the number of malnourished children, with 43% of children suffering from malnutrition. The average Indian home throws away over 270 kg of food and drinks per year. Proper food storage, buying only what can be consumed, avoiding waste at social events, and better cooking practices can help reduce India's high rate of food wastage.
