SAP ERP is an enterprise resource planning software that standardizes data across departments but can be expensive and time-consuming to implement. It requires multiple steps to start using, including implementing the software and customizing it to specific business needs and operations. SAP ERP contains various modules that manage different business functions such as finance, sales, distribution, production, and more.

2. Benefits and Limitations of SAP ERP
■ SAP eliminates information silos and standardizes data as well as other benefits
however it can be expensive and can take a long time to format correctly.

3. SAP Implementations and
Customizations
■ SAP takes multiple steps to start using including implementing it through project cost,
scope and resources, and by customizing it to specific business operations and needs.

4. SAP ERP Modules
■ SAP includes two different types of modules which are the technical and functional
modules.

5. Master Data vs.Transactional Data
■ Master data is information that deals with people, places and objects within a system
while transactional data is the recordings of the actions of a business.

6. SAP Clients
■ SAP clients are self-contained business units within each individual SAP system.

7. Understanding SAP Security Roles
■ SAP security can be customized, and not every SAP user will have same access as
other due to different levels of customizable access.

8. SAP FinancialAccounting (FI)
■ This module is responsible tracking and reporting the financial data of the
organization and contains multiple levels of the companies financial information.

9. SAP Controlling (CO)
■ Controlling helps to plan and monitor business operations and their costs to show
where money is being spent.

10. SAP Sales and Distribution (SD)
■ Sales and distribution compiles product and customer-related data by using logistic
analysis.

11. SAP Materials Management (MM)
■ Materials management helps to ensure that the required materials are always in stop
and to make sure that supplies are ordered on time.

■ Production planning helps to let the manufacturer know how much to produce to keep
up with demand and distribution.

13. SAP Quality Management (QM)
■ Quality management helps to ensure high quality by collecting quality inspection,
quality control, and quality notifications data.

■ Plant maintenance keeps the plant working at a high efficiency by looking at
inspection, preventative maintenance and repair.

15. SAP Project Systems (PS)
■ Project systems manage all projects within an organization throughout their life cycle.

16. SAP Human Capital Management (HCM)
■ Human capital management manages human resources using the organizational
management set in place.

17. Logging on Using the SAP GUI
■ To log on, you will need the SAP software and oftentimes the software needs to be
accessed using a company network.

18. MenuTree Navigation
■ In order to work on SAP you must enter a transaction code or aT code, you can do this
using a menu tree that lists all of the transactions you currently have.

19. Transaction Code Navigation
■ If you have a transaction code memorized, it makes opening transactions quicker as
you can simply enter the code to get started.

20. User Menu and Settings
■ You can customize personal settings within the program, these settings will be save to
your individual login ID.

21. Favorites
■ Favorites folders can be used to help you access the transactions that you work on
regularly and eliminates the need to continuously enter codes.

22. Icons and Buttons
■ Icons and buttons can help you to know whether or not something has been entered
incorrectly or if there is something major happening with your data.

23. Multiple SAP Sessions
■ You can have up to six SAP sessions open at once, you can open multiple sessions
using the select New GUI window from the drop down menu.

24. Searching for Data and UsingWildcards
■ You can search for data using key words and certain aspects of the transaction without
having to memorize the code.

25. Printing in SAP
■ To print to a default printer, click more, system, user data and enter the information of
the printer and user ID, you can then print.

26. Basic Report Selection Criteria
■ Defining report selection criteria helps to narrow search results so that they become
more meaningful to you.

27. Advanced Report Selection Criteria
■ Advanced report selection criteria can help you to find more specific information using
more than one field or key words.

28. Reporting Layouts
■ Reporting layouts can be based on personal preference and can be altered to allow you
to use the information more efficiently and make it easier to understand.

29. Sorting
■ Sorting data can help to pick and choose different data and put it in a different format
than the rest of the report.

30. Filtering
■ Filtering can help to find more specific results even further than sorting and can obtain
select pieces of data.

31. Printing Reports
■ Once the default printer is already set up, all that needs to be done is to select the
print button on the screen and make sure all of the fields are filled in correctly.

■ By entering the report, clicking more, list, export, we can choose what kind of program
we want to upload the file to.
