• Impregnated novel metal into supports, ion-exchanged metal into zeolites, and washcoated into micro-reactors.
• Compared laboratory synthesized and commercial catalysts in terms of ammonia oxidation activity.
• Simulated the experimental data for optimization of catalytic activity and selectivity.
• Studied the effect of diffusion limitations on the catalyst performance.
