El nombre Alhambra tiene sus orígenes en una palabra árabe que significa "castillo rojo o bermellón", debido quizás al tono de color de las torres y muros que rodean completamente la colina de La Sabica, que bajo la luz de las estrellas es de color plateado, pero bajo la luz del sol adquiere un tono dorado. Aunque existe una explicación más poética, narrada por los cronistas musulmanes que hablan de la construcción de la Alhambra "bajo la luz de las antorchas". Creada originalmente con propósitos militares, la Alhambra era una alcazaba (fortín), un alcázar (palacio) y una pequeña medina (ciudad), todo al mismo tiempo. Este triple carácter nos ayuda a comprender las numerosas características de éste monumento. No existe ninguna referencia de la Alhambra como residencia de reyes hasta el siglo XIII, aunque la fortificación existe desde el siglo IX. Los primeros reyes de Granada, los Ziritas, tenían sus castillos y palacios en las colinas de Albaicín, y nada queda de ellos. Los monarcas Ziries fueron con toda probabilidad los emires que construyeron la Alhambra, comenzando en 1238. El fundador de la dinastía, Muhammed Al-Ahmar, comenzó con la restauración del antiguo fortín. Su trabajo fue completado por su hijo Muhammed II, cuyos sucesores inmediatos continuaron con las reparaciones. La construcción de los palacios (llamado Casa Real Vieja) data del siglo XIV, y es la obra de dos grandes reyes: Yusuf I y Muhammed V. Al primero se le adjudica, entre otros, el Cuarto de Comares, la Puerta de la Justicia, los Baños y algunas torres. Su hijo, Muhammed V, completó el embellecimiento de los palacios con la Sala de los Leones, además de otros cuartos y fortificaciones. La Alhambra se convirtió en una corte cristiana en 1492 cuando los Reyes Católicos conquistaron Granada. Más tarde, se construyeron varias estructuras para albergar a ciudadanos prominentes, cuarteles militares, una Iglesia y un Monasterio Franciscano. El Emperador Carlos V, que pasó varios meses en Granada, comenzó la construcción del Palacio que lleva su nombre e hizo algunas reformas en el interior de los edificios. Estas medidas provocaron una gran controversia provocada por razones políticas. Los siguientes reyes de la casa de Austria no dejaron en el olvido al monumento y cada uno dejo su marca, aunque más discretamente. Para rematarlo, las tropas napoleónicas que ocuparon Granada desde 1808 hasta 1812, convirtieron los palacios en cuarteles militares. Durante una retirada, minaron las torres y destruyeron parte de ellas. Dos de ellas, la Torre de Siete Suelos y la Torre de Agua quedaron en ruinas. zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex Proofs

This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second). Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management. The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
