Corso tenuto presso l'Università per la Formazione Permanente degli Adulti GIOVANNA BOSI MARAMOTTI, Ravenna (2012).
Le due facce dell'epoca d'oro dell'arte italiana: il pieno Rinascimento. A fianco delle straordinarie ed esplosive esperienze dei tre grandi geni (Leonardo, Michelangelo e Raffaello) scopriremo quello che la critica chiama “antirinascimento”, ossia una serie di correnti anticlassiche (manieriste, espressioniste, allegoriche e simboliche) che nel panorama culturale del '500 convivono e si intrecciano con le meglio conosciute espressioni del “classicismo” e dell'ordine razionale.
E sorge anche una nuova e inconsueta immagine dell'artista, inteso come personaggio eccentrico e “marginale”, la cui dote creativa è, secondo l'astrologia, ascritta all'influsso di un pianeta capriccioso e caratteriale: Saturno.
Approfondiremo quindi le tematiche del Rinascimento e dell'“antirinascimento”, dei grandi artisti del panorama “ufficiale” e dei meno conosciuti, ma non meno interessanti, artisti “saturnini”, portatori di aspetti eccentrici e trasgressivi del capriccioso, del grottesco, del mostruoso e del deforme che hanno popolato l'immaginazione del Cinquecento.
