The Red Oak After School Program provides after school care for children ages 5 to 13. Fees range from $35-80 per week with subsidies available based on income. The program offers homework help, literacy activities, and extracurricular programming to help improve academic performance. Staff to student ratio is 1:10. Academic Achievement, Enrichment & Outcomes
Homework Help (at least one‐hour daily)
Project‐based Learning (science and art), Literacy‐based Activities
(writing journals and reading time), and Extra‐curricular
Programming (physical fitness and drama) are designed to help
students build crucial skills that translate to improved performance
in school.
Report Card Grades and MCAS Scores will be collected and
measured over the school year to allow us to identify the subject
areas in which students need additional programming and
assistance.
Parent Benefits & Family Support
Parents receive daily updates and weekly summaries/assessments of
their child from Red Oak Group Leaders.
Red Oak families are provided with access to other support services
by BCNC such as: parent workshops, special education resources,
adult education, and community‐based referrals.
Benefits of a Licensed Program
Licensed care is a deductible expense on your income tax return.
Licensed care is monitored by the state and follows regulations that reflect best practices.
If you qualify for a government subsidy, you may save money on fees.
Staff receives regular professional development in areas such as: literacy support, bullying, and
working with students with disabilities.
