1. Robots – Social Norms
Our assignment was to get into a group of 3 and build a robot that demonstrates a social
norm. We chose to build a robot that waves and says hello because that is something that falls
into the category of social norms. Our robot burped, looked embarrassed, and said excuse me.
We added lights to the robot’s face to make it have more expressions. This assignment took
about a week to complete. It was the hardest when we tried to insert the vibration motors and
lights into the robot and make them functional. At the end of this project, our professor took a
video of the robot in action.
