The RMS Titanic was one of the largest passenger ships in the world built by White Star Line in 1908 along with its sister ships Olympic and Britannic. The Titanic set sail on its maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York in April 1912, but struck an iceberg on the night of April 14th, causing the ship to sink into the Atlantic Ocean within two hours and claiming over 1,500 lives. The wreck of the Titanic was discovered in 1985 and continues to fascinate people today through films about the famous ship.
