The lawyer for the owner of a Connecticut gun store says that the revocation of the store's license by the ATF began 18 months before the Newtown shooting and was unrelated to that event. The ATF began proceedings to revoke the license in August 2012. Two guns sold by the store were found at the Newtown shooting scene but were purchased in 2010 and 2011. The lawyer stated that the basis for revoking the license had nothing to do with the Newtown shooting.
