This doctoral thesis examines the impact of social media and networked connectivity on adult learning, challenging traditional views of educators as the primary 'knowledgeable others.' It highlights that while technological advancements have transformed learning environments, the role of educators remains vital for guiding learners through the vast amount of information available online. The research findings suggest that effective communication through social media enhances engagement and self-directed learning, reinforcing the importance of a trusted educator in the educational experience.
