The Rio 2016 Olympic Golf Tournament features a par 71 course designed for both men's and women's competitions, located in the Barra da Tijuca zone. With 60 male and 60 female players from 41 countries participating, golf has only appeared in the Olympics twice before. The course, built at a cost of R$60 million, will become a public venue after the Games, while concerns about the Zika virus led to withdrawals among top male players but not female players.
