The assessment of the professional competencies of pupils in technical vocational education can be done through various tools, such as those aimed at the practical demonstration of skills, and, certainly, in the current circumstances, digital solutions – indispensable not only in the classroom, but also in distance learning. In order to help teachers in technical vocational education system, this article presents two effective assessment tools and a comprehensive comparative chart. With extensive experience in formal and informal education, the authors recommend a predefined set of steps for developing an online test. Both digital and traditional evaluation have advantages and disadvantages, but both approaches can be used successfully depending on the object and objectives of the evaluation.
