GENERAL RULES
A: Advance Reservation period.
General Public: 120 days
Foreign Tourists: 360 days
F: First Come First Serve Principle
6: Maximum 6 Persons can be Booked per

RESERVATION
GENERAL RULES
P: Passengers are to occupy their seats/berths 10
minutes before the departure of train
N: Night Sleeping accommodation is between 2100 –
0600 Hrs.
R: Refunds on unused tickets are granted as per
prescribed rules.
Reservation fee: Reservation fee are levied.

ANY ONE OF THE PASSENGER/PASSENGER’S IN A PNR OF ALL
RESERVED CLASSES HAVE TO CARRY ORIGINAL PHOTO ID WHILE
TRAVELLING. FOLLOWING 10 PHOTO ID’S ARE ACCEPTED
1. Voter ID
2. Driving License
3. PAN Card
4. Passport
5. Photo ID issued by State/Central Govt having Serial No.s
6. Student ID card issued by Recognised Institutions
7. Nationalised Banks Pass Book with Photo
8. Credit Card issued by bank with laminated Photo
9. Unique ID “AADHAR” Card
10.Photo ID having serial numbers issued by Public Sector
undertakings of State/Central Government, District
Administration, Municipal Bodies.
PHOTO ID - NON COMPLIANCE
• Any one of the passenger in a PNR has to produce Original ID,
else all the passengers booked on that ticket shall be treated
as travelling without ticket and charged accordingly
( RB/CC/14/12 & CC/68/12).
• However for undertaking journey on PRS tickets, in SL and (2S)
classes, attested Xerox copy of ration card with photograph or
Nationalised Bank pass book with photograph are accepted.
Attestation should be done by a Gazetted Officer or by the
CRS/SM.(RB/CC-4-13)
• The above provision of undertaking journey on attested copy of
Photo ID, is not applicable in case of E-tickets, Tatkal Tickets
and AC Classes PRS tickets.
CHANGE OF NAME
• It is permitted only once on confirmed
tickets.
• Not permitted on TATKAL tickets.
• Permitted on E-tickets at PRS Counters
as per rules.

INDIVIDUAL CASES
• Within family members:
• Application should be given 24 hours before scheduled
departure of the train.
• Blood relation certificate should be produced.
• Gazetted officer must permit or post facto sanction should be
obtained.
• Change of name involving concessional ticket to Non –
Concessional ticket and vice-versa within family members are
not accepted in PRS System.
• For Government servants on duty:
• Application should be given 24 hours before scheduled
departure of the train.
• A letter from authorized officer is required.
GROUP CASES
• SS/CRS can Permit change of Name in
Group cases subject to following
conditions:
• Marriage Parties
– Head of the party should give application 48 hours before
departure of the train.
– Maximum 10% of the total number of passengers can be
changed.
• Students/NCC/Scouts
– Head of the institute/ Authorised official should give
application 24 hours before departure of the train.
– Maximum 10% of the total number of passengers can be
changed.
CHANGE OF BOARDING POINT
• SMR/CRS can permit Change of Boarding point
subject to following conditions:
1. It is permitted only once on confirmed tickets. (Not
permitted on RAC/WL Tickets).
2. Application should be given 24 hours before
scheduled departure of the train.
3. Permitted on E-tickets at PRS Counters as per rules.
CHANGE OF BOARDING POINT
• Once boarding point is changed , the
passenger loses the right to board from original
booking point. In case he cancels his journey,
cancellation charges will be collected based on
original booking point.
• If passenger boards at original booking point
after changing the boarding point without any
proper authority, he/she will have to pay fare
with penalty between original boarding point to
changed boarding point. (CC-45-08)
PRE/POSTPONEMENT RULES-2013
• Preponement/postponement of ticket is
permitted only once.
• It is permitted during the working hours of the
reservation office.
• Destination: Should be same
• Class : Same or Higher
• Train: Same or any other.
PRE/POSTPONEMENT RULES-2013
• Confd/RAC/WL accommodation is available in
the train for which fresh reservation is required.
• Fresh Reservation fee will be collected in the
case of confirmed ticket and clerkage in the
cases of RAC/WL ticket.
• In case of difference of fare between the
originally booked and revised journey, the
difference shall be recovered or refunded.
PRE/POSTPONEMENT RULES-2013
• Cancellation rules on Modified ticket:
• For confirmed ticket where fresh reservation
fee is collected as modification charge, then
Two cancellation charges are levied.
• For RAC/WL tickets where clerkage is collected
as modification charge, then single cancellation
charge is collected.
GROUP BOOKING
• Requirement of more than 6 berths is called group or
block reservation.
• Group booking will be permitted to passengers
traveling in groups like marriage parties, students,
pilgrims, cultural troops etc.
• Persons applying for group booking should apply to
the competent authority.
• Group booking will start 09:00 Hrs on the opening
day of reservation (CC-44-14). Other days it starts
after ten minutes of opening of counters.
• At any time, group-booking permission may not be
granted for more than 50% of the berths available.

PERMITTING GROUP BOOKING
ISSUE OF DUPLICATE TKT
• Duplicate ticket is Not issued to wait listed
passengers.
• If the passenger has torn / mutilated or lost /
misplaced reserved ticket
(Confirmed/RAC), duplicate ticket can be
issued.
• Duplicate ticket is not issued on Lost RAC
Tickets after the preparation of chart.
• No need of submitting FIR for issue of
duplicate ticket.

Note: In respect of party coach ticket or special train, Duplicate ticket is
issued upto the time of departure of train on payment of 10% of total fare.
OTHER CONDITIONS
• No Refund is granted on duplicate ticket is issued.
• Refunds on torn mutilated tickets are granted subject to
verifiability of genuineness and journey particulars.
• When lost or misplaced ticket is traced after the issue of
a duplicate ticket and presented before departure of the
train, refund on duplicate ticket is allowed after deducting
5% of fare subject to a minimum Rs. 20/-
• Incase journey is also not under taken the cancellation
charges on original ticket will be deducted as per rules.
( Both original and duplicate ticket to be presented)
• If passenger pays excess charge on train on account of
lost reserved / RAC ticket, 50% of fare will be refunded
on application to CCM, if nobody has taken refund on
original ticket.
ISSUE OF DUPLICATE TICKETS IN LIEU OF
LOST/MISPLACED OR TORN/MUTILATED
RESERVED TICKETS AGAINST PASS/PTO
• Duplicate tickets is issued as per the
conditions given below:
• Whether the status of the original ticket is
Confirmed or RAC or Wait Listed
• The original Pass/PTO should be available
• Issued upto the departure of the train
• No charges are collected from pass holders
• Clerkage charge of Rs.10/- per passenger is
collected in case of PTO holders.
