Staff Officer, Civil Military Coordination
United Nations Operation in Cote D'Ivoire Daloa (Côte d’Ivoire) Full-time Since July 2014
   
United Nations civil-military coordination (UN-CIMIC) provides the interface
between the military component of a UN peace operation and the political, humanitarian,
developmental, human rights, and rule-of-law components of the mission, as well as
many other external partners in the larger peacebuilding system.
It is a crucial function of any complex peace operation because it is central to the mission
achieving a system-wide impact on the conflict it is attempting to transform. My job is to
coordinate between mission military components and civil counterparts, and between the
mission and the rest of the system, in order to ensure a sustainable peace process.

Train the leaders of 'Corp of Signals'. The signal officer leads the Signal Corps,
which is responsible for the Army’s entire systems of communication. Officers plan and

where they learn the skills and operational aspects that are used in the net-centric
warfare.
'School of Signals' offers post-commissioning training to allow those officers who
generally have little to no prior military communication experience to obtain the skills
