This is a professional and scientific position dealing with development and implementation
of policies and programs for the management of surface water and groundwater resources
province wide.
Responsible for implementation of the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Water Quality
Monitoring Agreement, Provincial Real Time Water Quality Monitoring Network.
Database and metadata management, website updates,
Lead blue green algae project that includes sampling, research and reporting, response and
solving public complaints and concerns.
Quality assurance/quality control, operation and maintenance of weather and hydrometric

Fisheries Resource Planning Supervisor

Senior Supervisory role with Sustainable Fisheries and Ocean Policy Division
Leadership role in developing a provincial Coastal and Ocean Strategy and Policy
Framework. This included the development of a strategy from all aspects of the project
from conception to a final document.
Facilitated and improved communications across provincial and federal departments on
coastal and ocean issues through the establishment of project teams and work groups.
Led the establishment of the Provincial Coastal and Ocean Network. I am the co-chair of
this network and lead the collaboration with 11 provincial departments in policy
development.
Established appropriate project management functions to ensure goals and objectives are
met within established timeframes and deadlines.

DFO to facilitate the establishment of integrated management plans in large ocean
management areas and coastal management areas throughout the province.

Led departmental environmental review and evaluation process for offshore environmental
effects monitoring (EEM) programs (e.g., Hibernia, Terra Nova, White Rose), strategic
environmental assessments and environmental reports with respect to offshore oil
exploration development and production proposals.
Leadership role in reviewing proposed projects under the Canadian Environmental
Assessment Act and the provincial Environmental Assessment Act. Biological knowledge of
commercial fisheries species, fish habitat and fish health, and aquaculture was necessary for
this review.
Represented Department on national, regional and provincial government committees,
including interdepartmental and intergovernmental committees.
Co-led and liaised with DFO-Ottawa in conducting scientific literature review. This review
was presented to a senior intergovernmental committee and at an international
conference, Coastal Zone Canada 2004. Received commendation on personal file for this
work.
