 Perform intermediate technical work assisting in the implementation of the District’s AIS plan and
program.
 Make educational presentations to various audiences on AIS and water quality topics.
 Assist in annual monitoring of aquatic invasive species in the District, including performing aquatic plant
surveys,snorkel surveys and zebra mussel assessments using a variety of methods.
 Assist with ongoing applied research projects – Zebra Musselstudy,Eurasian Milfoil study,etc.

● Lead educational programs and tours regarding farming practices, farm animals, and the Community
Supported Agriculture (CSA) program to all visitors. Weekday programs largely consist of schoolgroups
(children ages 3-13) visiting for field trips or for homeschool programs; weekend programs are family
oriented, resulting in a mix of both child and adult visitors. Programs range from small groups of visitors
(5-10) to large groups (150+).
● Provide field work support to the CSA staff. This involves harvesting various crops, weeding garden beds,
safely setting up and taking down electrical fencing, and overseeing CSA volunteers.
● Assist with farm chores and animal husbandry (sheep,pigs,cattle, chickens, turkeys, dogs,cats).
Animal Humane Society (AHS) Golden Valley, Minnesota
Animal Care Technician May 2011 – November 2015
● Assisted AHS Animal Behaviorists in providing proper care and specialized programs (i.e. Food Bowl
Modification, Adoption Preparation, Kitten Socialization, etc.) to cats and dogs requiring specific behavior
modification needs.
● Performed daily health checks on all animals, fed and provide enrichment to all animals, assisted veterinary
staff, cleaned kennels/cages,moved animals and supplies throughout the shelter (carrying/lifting up to ~70
pounds).
● Utilized the PetPoint database to enter, edit, and/or obtain information on individual animals (i.e. medical,
behavioral, and previous ownership history,etc.). PetPoint is also used for assigning and updating an
animal’s location and adoption status.
● Offered exceptional customer service to all patrons of AHS.
● Assisted in receiving animals from other shelters (10-150 animals in a single transport).
● Delivered proper and specialized care to animals from cruelty cases and hoarding/negligent breeder cases.
Three Rivers Park District – Eastman Nature Center Dayton, Minnesota

● Developed and oversawmy own week long children’s camp (Survival Skills Camp, ages 9-12).
● Led fun, nature-based activities for day camps and schoolfield trips and assisted co-leaderand program
coordinators in teaching nature themed programs for children ages 3-12; i.e. Pond Study Program –
children investigate the health of the local pond by taking surveys of what macroinvertebrates live in the
pond as well as performing pH and other chemical tests.Pond study includes identification of
macroinvertebrates and discussion of pond ecology.
● Co-led an OutdoorAdventure Skills camp for autistic teens (ages 13-18) in partnership with the Autism
Society of MN.
● Continuously studied and practiced plant and animal identification in order to improve interpretive skills.

● Worked closely with the animals housed at the nature center (turtles, frogs, toads,salamanders, snakes) and
developed a plan to provide them with outdoorexhibits, allowing for exposure of natural sunlight and a

● Part-time research assistant fora novel study on stem-nesting bees under the Marla Spivak Legislative-
Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources pollinator landscapes grant.
● Created and maintained stem-nesting arrays (~140 stems from 23 different plant species) and observed
arrays for bee activity.
● Used Microsoft Excel for data entry/analysis and surveyed scientific literature related to the study.
Como Zoo Park and Conservatory St. Paul, Minnesota
Marine Animal Intern January – March 2015
● Prepared the daily diet for Como’s marine animals and performed the daily feedings,medication
distribution, and husbandry for African penguins (8) and tufted puffins (5), as well as doing routine record
keeping and animal observation.
