Anne O'Brien graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in May 2016. She completed over 1,000 clinical hours in a variety of settings including medical-surgical, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, mental health, and leadership roles. O'Brien held leadership positions in campus organizations like the Student Nurse Organization and served as a student representative on nursing faculty committees. She also volunteered providing healthcare in Chiapas, Mexico and worked as a soccer coach. O'Brien received several honors for her campus and community involvement including awards from Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and her sorority Sigma Sigma Sigma.

This webinar presents concrete case studies and expert knowledge in strengthening gender equality and promoting human and labour rights in the manufacture of medical products. Presenters spoke to their experiences of women's empowerment workplace programme that brings together global and local companies, business associations, and donors to support women in global supply chains through health, finance, and other curricula. In addition, principles of gender-responsive communications were discussed to ensure that language does not reinforce gender inequalities and stereotypes, but rather helps to subvert them.
