The coronavirus pandemic has shown us a new world where the status quo no longer exists.
•‘The world has seen many crises over the past 30 years, including the Global Financial Crisis of 2007-09. Each has hit human development hard but, overall, development gains accrued globally year-on-year. COVID-19, with its triple hit to health, education, and income, may change this trend.’ UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner
• But the pandemic also shows us the wisdom of what is already inherent in the SDGs; the challenges we face cannot be dealt with in isolation or by a piecemeal approach.
• WHO COVID-19 Strategic Response and Preparedness Plan 2021 also highlights the need for coordinated response to plot a course out of the pandemic.

This book provides guidance on effective communication between parents and children. It teaches skills like active listening, acknowledging feelings without judgment, using creative problem-solving instead of punishment, and encouraging a child's autonomy. Readers are given examples and exercises to practice these skills, like naming a child's feelings in different scenarios, offering alternatives to problematic behaviors, and allowing choices rather than commands. The goal is for parents to respect their child's perspective, address issues respectfully, and strengthen the parent-child relationship through open communication.

The study analyzed class action cases filed between 2000-2006 in 12 California courts. It found that employment and business tort cases made up over half of all cases reviewed. Employment cases significantly increased over the period, while business tort cases declined after 2002. Contract cases also declined as a percentage of filings. Antitrust filings fluctuated greatly based on specific events - rising in 2000 due to energy crisis lawsuits and in 2003 due to auto industry suits. Overall, the nature of class action cases made traditional trend analysis difficult due to small case volumes and reactivity to events.

The goal was to support continuous quality improvement and sharing of effective practices across the 80 project sites.
This document summarizes a research report on a consultation with diverse communities in the Langworthy area of Salford, England. The report was commissioned by the Langworthy Cornerstone Association to inform its 2016-2019 business strategy. The research had two aims: to inform amendments to current service provision and to inform the development of new provision considering local requirements. It employed a participatory research design using 10 community researchers from diverse backgrounds. The researchers conducted focus groups in multiple languages to understand how the association could better engage local communities and their needs. The findings will be used to improve and expand the association's services to reflect the area's increasingly diverse population.

The project will be implemented for a period of 24 months (September 2015- September, 2016).
4.4 Project area and Target Population
The project will be implemented in the targeted Nakivale Camp (focusing in the Refugees).
The project will specifically target female and male refugees between of all ages in Nakivale
camp.
4.5 Main Component and Activities
Consistent with the above background, problem analysis, objectives and coverage, this project
will utilize previous experience acquired by researchers over the years in the implementation of
similar project activities.
4.5.1 Small-scale enterprise development:
Refugees will be organized to undertake the following main activities for this component. This
will include: financial and management support to existing local artisan within the communities;
remedial education for trainers and trainees; payment of stipends to trainers and trainees.

4.7 METHODOLOGY
Sample Size
From a total population of refugees, a total sample size will be 10,000 refugees. This choice
is based on the assumption that the number of 10,000 refugees is reasonable in qualitative
research to generate the necessary data to understand the phenomenon in a case study. This
section of the sample size will be used because it will help the researchers minimize
resources such as time, money in addition to other requirements.
Sampling Techniques
In order to get better results, simple random will be used. Local leaders and community
members will be simple randomly selected because they have much information about the
study problem. These techniques will be used to assist the researchers to avoid bias in
selecting such respondents to participate in the study since they are many, and this will give
each of them a chance to participate in the study.
Data Collection Methods
Data will be primary. Primary data will be collected by the use of questionnaires, interviews,
focus group discussions and observation.
Questionnaire Survey
The study will employ a questionnaire as a research instruments for data collection. The use of
self-administered questionnaires to collect qualitative data will be justifiable on the account
that they the general acceptable instrument for qualitative data collection. Questionnaire
provides afresh and for the first time thus will happen to be original in character.
Interview Survey
Personal interviews generally in a face to face contact or conversation using structured
questions will be used by the researchers in collecting primary data from community
members because these categories of refugees are always busy with limited or no time to fill
a questionnaire.
6. Research Instruments
The study will use different research instruments and these will include questionnaire and
interview guide. The study will be guided by the following research instruments:-
Questionnaires
A questionnaire is a collection of questions based on the subject of interest to the researcher
and completed by respondents. A questionnaire will be a semi – structured, it will include both
open and ended questions for people to fill.
Interview Guide
Personal interviews generally in a face to face contact or conversation using structured
questions will be used by the researchers in collecting primary data from community
members because these categories of respondents are always busy with limited or no time to
fill a questionnaire.
Research Procedure
Certain ethical considerations will be considered, first an introductory letter will be obtained
from Bishop Stuart University and presented to officials of Nakivale camp for necessary
assistance. Later researchers will introduce themselves and ask for permission to carry out
research in wards. After permission is granted, the researchers will first test for validity and
reliability of instruments, and thereafter they will be able to collect data from the chosen
refugees according to the agreed time schedule.
