This document argues that religion should have a place in public schools. It notes that the majority of Americans have Christian beliefs yet the views of atheists have disproportionate influence in restricting religious expression. The document asserts that the separation of church and state was intended to prevent the government imposing religion, not banning it from public spaces. It quotes founding fathers emphasizing the importance of religion to morality and good governance. The document encourages religious Americans to advocate for their rights to religious freedom and expression in schools.
2. Only 16% of America claim to
have no religions belief
Why does America allow 16% of the population to
make such an important decision without a fight?
In a nation where the majority rules why are they
staying silent? 79% of Americans have a Christian
based faith…SPEAK UP!
Students of Faith Should be allowed to express
themselves without repercussions.
3. Understanding Church and State
The separation of church and state is often the back bone for arguing that religion
has no place in public schools…the truth is the separation of church and state
simply states that the “State” wont impose a religious mandate on its students. It
does not mean that the church has no place in the state or any state run facilities.
The truth is that when it comes to schools,
religion was one of the key elements to be
taught.
In Section 14 act 3 of the Northwest
Ordinance; July 13, 1787 it states “Religion,
morality, and knowledge, being necessary to
good government and the happiness of
mankind…”
This is just one example of Religion being a
key stepping stone to a solid nation
4. Founding Fathers on Religion
The Following are quotes by people that set the foundation of our country –
“And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained
without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on
minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that
national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.” – George Washington;
Farewell Address 1976
“Observe good faith and justice towards all nations; cultivate peace and harmony with
all. Religion and morality enjoin this conduct…” – George Washington; Farewell Address
1976
"Resistance to tyranny becomes the Christian and social duty of each individual. ...
Continue steadfast and, with a proper sense of your dependence on God, nobly defend
those rights which heaven gave, and no man ought to take from us.“ –John Hancock;
History of the United States of America, Vol. II, p. 229.
"Suppose a nation in some distant Region should take the Bible for their only law Book,
and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited! Every
member would be obliged in conscience, to temperance, frugality, and industry; to
justice, kindness, and charity towards his fellow men; and to piety, love, and reverence
toward Almighty God ... What a Eutopia, what a Paradise would this region be.“ – John
Adams; Diary and Autobiography of John Adams, Vol. III, p. 9.

6. The United States is a diverse nation of religions yet the ones causing the
trouble for student in school are atheist. How can a group that claims to not
believe in god be offended by him. How can something you don’t believe in
upset you? Does the boogie man upset people that don’t believe? Does Santa
offend those that don’t believe?
The few that shout about their
freedoms being imposed on are the
ones that are stomping on the
freedoms of the majority.
A 16 year old girl in Rhode Island won a
lawsuit against her school to have a
prayer removed from the auditorium,
where it has hung for 49 years. This
prayer was written by student in 1963.
What makes her rights more important
then those of the students that wrote and
hung it?

8. Our Government allows God in every important aspect of this nations
Each day's session of the Supreme Court starts with the invocation:
"God save the United States and this Honorable Court."
The National Anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner" contains the
words "Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserved us a nation."
The National Motto is "In God we Trust."
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag contains the words "one Nation
under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
The Declaration of Independence includes the phrase: "with a firm
reliance on the protection of divine Providence."
9. Stop letting the views a few
manipulate the rights of the
many.
If so many see the importance of Religion in schools then why are
those that practice their freedom of expression being punished. A
stand must be made to fix this problem. The voices of so many need
to unite so that a whisper across a dining room table becomes a
deafening shout that echo off the steps of our congress.
10. “The best thing you can do is the right thing; the next best
thing you can do is the wrong thing; the worst thing you can
do is nothing.” -Theodore Roosevelt
So do something, before what you don’t want is already done.
