This paper examines the practices Austrian high school students and teachers use to evaluate the credibility of online information. The study found that students heavily rely on the Internet, primarily Google, to complete school assignments with little guidance from teachers. Students typically only use a single search term on Google and trust the top results without thoroughly evaluating the information sources. They also ignore printed materials like books in favor of secondary Internet sources. While the Internet is widely used for schoolwork, assessment of information credibility is not adequately addressed by either students or teachers.
