A game sense approach is a teaching strategy that modifies games and sports to develop students' tactical skills and understanding over their technical skills. It focuses on simple games at first to reduce skill demands and build problem solving abilities. A game sense approach aligns with the Australian curriculum's emphasis on developing fundamental movement skills like running, jumping, throwing and catching. It allows teachers to design practices that challenge students to understand and improve these skills. Additionally, a game sense approach is effective because it keeps students engaged through fun activities while developing skills over time without pressure, focuses on inclusion and cooperation, and modifies games to suit students' skill levels. This approach addresses the NSW PDHPE syllabus aims of understanding self and others, promoting physical activity,
This document discusses differential learning, an approach that takes advantage of fluctuations in a complex system to improve learning. It does this through non-repetitive and constantly changing movement tasks. Studies have found this approach leads to better skill acquisition and learning rates compared to traditional training. The differential learning approach amplifies natural fluctuations to destabilize and force the emergence of new, more effective coordination strategies during learning.
The document discusses the emerging roles of sports coaches based on a study conducted in the Philippines. It identifies four key roles that coaches play: (1) Motivator - to encourage and inspire athletes, (2) Instructor - to teach skills and techniques, (3) Supervisor - to manage training and provide direction, and (4) Assessor - to evaluate performance and provide feedback. These four roles - Motivator, Instructor, Supervisor, Assessor - form a new model called MISA that captures the essential functions of coaches in developing competent athletes. The study concludes that coach education should emphasize preparing coaches to fulfill these critical roles.

Block and traditional periodization and the unpredictable performance periodu3061947
1. An unpredictable performance period refers to periods in training where intensity is manipulated and a minimal number of abilities are focused on consecutively rather than developing many components simultaneously as in traditional periodization.
2. A study found that a block periodization model using half the total training volume but with a 10% higher workload accumulation over targeted phases resulted in better performance improvements compared to a traditional model.
3. The block training model is more efficient at producing strength gains than a daily undulating periodization model.

STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODEL REVIEWING RELATIONSHIPS AMONG GOAL ORIENTATION, ACA...IAEME Publication
This study explored the association among Goal Orientation, Academic Self-efficacy, Academic Help-seeking Behaviour and Achievement on a sample of 600 secondary school students using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) for data analysis and to see the impact. Goal orientation is an outlook toward demonstrating ability in achievement situations. Academic Self-efficacy is a person's belief in his/her ability to succeed in an academic situation. Academic help-seeking behaviour is 'seeking others help' at the time when one faces difficulties or uncertainty in the course of his/her education in classroom. Achievement is the accomplishment or acquired proficiency in the performance of an individual with respect to a given knowledge or skill. Structural Equation Modeling is a powerful technique that can combine complex path models with latent variables.
The document summarizes research on self-determination theory (SDT) in physical education. It reviews existing studies based on the portion of SDT examined, research design, outcome variables studied, and contextual factors included. The review finds relationships between SDT constructs are confirmed but more research is needed on connections to student learning. It also notes a lack of intervention studies and description of contextual factors. The conclusion calls for research applying SDT to improve student motivation and learning in physical education.

The document summarizes a study that analyzed over 5,000 research studies on principal leadership and its effects on student achievement. From those, 69 studies were selected that met quality standards. Those 69 studies included ratings of over 2,800 principals by 14,000 teachers, which were then correlated with test scores of over 1.4 million students. The findings were published in a 2005 book on leadership strategies shown to improve student achievement.
This study examined the relationship between selected physical fitness variables (speed, agility, flexibility) and long jump performance in 20 male college long jumpers. Speed was measured by a sprint test, agility by a shuttle run test, and flexibility by the sit-and-reach test. Long jump performance was measured over three trials. Correlation analysis found significant relationships between long jump performance and speed (r=-.759), agility (r=-.839), and flexibility (r=.860), suggesting that higher levels of speed, agility, and flexibility are associated with better long jump performance. The study supports the hypothesis that physical fitness variables can predict aspects of performance in the long jump.
A qualitative study of differentiated teacher supervisions impact on classroo...Amado M. Cadiong
This document summarizes three articles related to teacher supervision and principal leadership:
1) The first article discusses a study that found differentiated teacher supervision by principals, based on Charlotte Danielson's Four Domains of Instruction, improved classroom instruction and fostered collaboration and continuous improvement. Principals preferred this approach and felt cooperative professional development was most effective.
2) The second article proposes a framework where the principal acts as an agent of change, aided by an external coach, to guide school transformation through coaching practices involving stakeholders.
3) The third article discusses how some principals use harassing supervision tactics to encourage low-performing teachers to leave, due to limitations in teacher evaluation systems and principal training around hiring
A review of studies on the effects of plyometric or ballistic resistance training on baseball throwing velocity found that: Three studies involving 126 male baseball players ages 11-21 found that plyometric training programs lasting 4-8 weeks significantly increased throwing velocity by 1.5-2.2 mph compared to control groups. Only one subject reported any dissatisfaction with the training programs on questionnaires. Plyometric training can significantly and practically improve throwing velocity for baseball players to aid performance and rehabilitation from shoulder or elbow injuries.
This doctoral thesis examines the effects of an experimental kettlebell training program on body composition, physiological characteristics, and motor skills in women. The study involved 40 women aged 27-32 who were randomly assigned to either an experimental group that underwent an 8-week kettlebell training program or a control group. Measurements of body composition, cardiorespiratory endurance, muscle strength, and motor skills were taken before and after the training period. Statistical analysis found that the experimental training program significantly improved most measured characteristics, including body weight, body fat, hip circumference, maximal oxygen uptake, muscle strength, endurance, agility, and reaction time. In contrast, the control group showed no significant changes. Therefore, the experimental
1) The document reviews research on the effects of ability grouping in physical education (PE) classes on students' attitudes and participation.
2) A study found that ability grouping significantly improved student behavior but did not significantly change student attitudes towards PE.
3) The author concludes that ability grouping within PE classes can be beneficial where appropriate and further research on the role of gender is warranted.
Improving Students’ Effort Capacity through Movement Games in Physical Educat...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: Maintaining effort capacity is one of the goals pursued in adult physical education. Sedentary people have difficulty in sustaining an effort that is considered to be withing the usual intensity. They should receive training exercise because they have lost the physical ability through a bad conduct of life. In this research we started from the hypothesis that the use in the physical education lesson of motion games, which involves sustained efforts, will lead to a much faster increase of the students’ effort capacity. Dynamic games will determine the students to participate with greater interest and pleasure in lessons, and this will result in improved effort due to their active involvement. The goal was to highlight that motion games can also be used with success in the case of young people. The attractiveness and dynamism that characterizes the games determines the students to be more active and more involved in practicing physical exercise. The experiment was conducted on a group of 18 students from the second year of study at Faculty of Economic Sciences and Public Administration, at „Ştefan cel Mare” University of Suceava. The control group was formed from 18 students in the second year, the same specialization in another study group. The experiment was conducted over a period of 4 months (October 2018 – February 2019).
This document provides an overview of Movement Education as an approach to teaching primary health and physical education. It discusses how Movement Education focuses on using movement as the central learning component, promoting student-centered and autonomous learning. It also describes how Movement Education develops problem-solving skills, teamwork, social/emotional skills, and a lifelong passion for physical activity. The presentation then discusses how Game Sense and fundamental movement skills are key components of Movement Education and provides examples of how they are implemented in a Year 3 class through games focusing on invasion, targeting, and decision-making skills while ensuring social inclusion. It argues that Movement Education takes a holistic approach to well-being and health in line with curriculum guidelines.

This study examined award-winning athletes' perceptions of coaching behavior and psychological factors that influence their sports performance. The study surveyed 49 athletes and 9 coaches from a state university in the Philippines. Results showed that coaching style and mental toughness had the greatest positive impact on athletic performance, while anxiety had a slight negative effect. There was little difference between how coaches and athletes rated coaching behaviors like motivation and communication skills. Coaching style was found to be the strongest predictor of athletic achievement over other psychological variables. The study concluded coaching behaviors and mental toughness significantly influence athletes' performance, and qualitative research should further explore other performance-related factors.
Athletes Satisfaction As Mediator Of Transformational Leadership Behaviors O...Kate Campbell
This study examined the relationship between high school football coaches' transformational leadership style and players' sport commitment in Iran. It hypothesized that player satisfaction would mediate this relationship. 280 high school football players aged 15-20 completed surveys measuring coaches' transformational leadership, player satisfaction, and sport commitment. Structural equation modeling found a positive relationship between transformational leadership and player satisfaction, and between satisfaction and sport commitment. Player satisfaction was shown to partially mediate the relationship between transformational leadership and sport commitment. The results suggest that when Iranian high school football coaches display transformational leadership behaviors, it increases player satisfaction and in turn increases players' commitment to sport.
This study examines the methods and frequency of communication between collegiate basketball players and coaches over time. A survey of 50 current or former players from a small northwest college asks about their experiences using multiple choice and Likert scale questions. The analysis aims to determine if communication methods and frequency have changed significantly depending on the year of athletic participation. Digital technologies have increasingly become a method of communication, resulting in other methods decreasing over time.
This literature review examines 13 peer-reviewed articles on the relationship between coaching behaviors, self-confidence, and mental errors in female collegiate athletes. The articles are categorized into perceptions and impacts of coaching behaviors, positive coaching behaviors, negative coaching behaviors including poor coaching, self-confidence and mental errors, and relationships between variables. Several studies found coaching behaviors influence athletes' self-confidence and mental errors. Athletes preferred coaches who provided positive and encouraging feedback rather than criticism. Negative coaching behaviors like verbal abuse were linked to increased anxiety. While coaching behaviors impact self-confidence and errors, little evidence directly connects self-confidence and errors. More research is needed on their relationship and how coaching can enhance self-confidence to reduce errors.
Athletes Perceptions Of Role Ambiguity And Coaching Competency In Sport Team...Jessica Thompson
This study examined the relationship between athletes' perceptions of role ambiguity and their evaluations of their coach's competencies in two areas: game strategy and technique. The study involved 243 athletes from 26 teams in various sports who completed surveys measuring role ambiguity and perceptions of their coach's competencies. Using multilevel analysis, the study found relationships between athletes' perceptions of role ambiguity and their evaluations of their coach's game strategy and technique competencies at both the individual and team levels. Athletes who perceived greater role ambiguity were more critical of their coach's abilities in these areas. The findings suggest role ambiguity is related to how athletes evaluate their coach's proficiency in key leadership roles.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and
coaching efficacy of university coaches. Therefore, 120 coaches (60 male and 60 female) were
selected randomly and completed emotional intelligence (Syberyashring, 1986) and the coaching
efficacy questionnaires. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and inferential (Pierson
correlation, and single-variable and multivariate regression) with SPSS 16 software (P<0.05).
Suggested hypothesis showed that the scale and subscales of coaches’ emotional intelligence are
associated with the scale and subscales of coaching efficacy. The coaches’ emotional
intelligence was considered as a good predict of coaching efficacy. Generally speaking, there is
a significance relationship between emotional intelligence as a variable affecting the coaching
efficacy.
Key words: Emotional intelligence, coaching efficacy, coach.

INTRODUCTION
Nowadays, it is known that the most important necessary condition in training top sportsmen and
sportswomen depends on excellent coaches. Huge investments in the field of coaching as well as
employing effective and efficient coaches for the clubs represent the necessity of great attention
in choosing efficient coaches. An efficient coach should have several characteristics. Coaching
efficacy consists of four main subscales that is creating incentive game strategy, effective
technique and processes in character developing. By creating incentives coaching can influence
their players’ skill and mental states [1]. The game strategy is related to the coaches ability in
guiding their players during the contest toward success [2, 3]. Eventually, the process of

This document summarizes two research articles on motivational factors for sports participation among university student-athletes and the effectiveness of a university's sports program.
The first article found that family and friends were the main motivational factors for initial sports participation and career choice among student-athletes. Intrinsic motives like learning new skills were the main drivers for continued participation. Most student-athletes did not intend to pursue professional athletic careers.
The second article examined factors correlated with the effectiveness of a state university's sports program. It found the program was more focused on competitive sports than wellness activities. System of incentives for athletes positively correlated with program effectiveness.
This document summarizes a research study conducted by three students on the effectiveness of mandatory study hall hours for student-athletes. The study involved observing how student-athletes use their time during required study hall sessions. A literature review covered previous research on student athlete perceptions and stressors, approaches to learning and their impact on academic success, and the effects of technology use on studying. The researchers' goal was to understand how student-athletes currently use study hall and determine how to improve future mandatory study sessions to maximize effectiveness.
Influence of the coach's method and leadership profile on the positivegabrielkristianto1
This document summarizes a study that investigated the relationship between coaching methods, leadership profiles, and the positive development of young athletes in team sports. The study involved 910 adolescent athletes and 57 coaches participating in an after-school sports program in Brazil. Ordinal logistic regression was used to analyze the associations between coaching methods (e.g. small-sided games), leadership behaviors (e.g. instruction, feedback), and perceptions of athletes' personal, social, cognitive, and goal-setting skills. The results suggest that the use of small-sided games and a democratic, supportive coaching leadership style are positively correlated with athletes' positive development. Autocratic coaching behaviors showed inverse associations with athletes' skills development.

The document examines predictors of coaching efficacy and effectiveness by comparing coaches' and athletes' reports. It explores how coaching efficacy is defined through four dimensions and how certain variables can influence efficacy levels. The study analyzed coaching behaviors, athlete perceptions, and individual athlete characteristics to predict coaching effectiveness. The findings provide insight into how coaches' self-assessments compare to athletes' evaluations.
How does coaching style affect athlete pro-social or antisocial behaviour wit...amyrose1987
The document discusses how a coach's style in relating to athletes, as framed by Self Determination Theory, can influence athletes' motivation and behaviors - an autonomy supportive style that meets psychological needs promotes prosocial behavior and performance, while a controlling style is linked to antisocial behavior and poorer outcomes. It also examines research on the coach-athlete relationship and practical applications of an autonomy supportive approach for coaches.
The document presents an 8th concept map summarizing key ideas from several sources about factors influencing youth psychosocial development through physical activity. The concept map outlines 3 main categories - motivation, perceived competence, and support systems - and their relationship to an athlete's experiences, enjoyment, and likelihood of continuing participation. It shows how motivational climates, self-determination, sources of feedback and evaluation, and sport specialization vs diversification impact development from ages 13-15. The concept map demonstrates the coach's understanding of how to foster positive physical activity experiences for youth.
Sport Team Culture of Malaysian College AthletesIOSR Journals
This document summarizes a study that examined the sport team culture among 316 college athletes in Malaysia. It found that the highest rated aspect of team culture was "togetherness within other team members." Males made up 61% of participants and 73% participated in team sports. The study used a Team Culture Inventory to measure four aspects of culture: perseverance, compliance to coaching, togetherness, and competitive desire. It found no significant differences in team culture based on gender, age, sport type, or level of involvement. However, team captains reported a more positive culture than other roles. The findings provide implications for coaches and program directors regarding developing a strong team culture.

The document discusses Flusser's concept of a "telematics society" where people share information through technology to create a "super brain." Flusser acknowledges that his previous works focused on verbs and processes, while Chamber Music represents a finished product of those actions. Flusser believes catastrophes cannot be predicted or avoided, but forecasting helps reduce damage from events like hurricanes. A telematics society could predict events to avoid catastrophes. The document also examines how chamber music and technology allow for continuous creation and sharing of information in an endless dialogue.
The document discusses the development of human-like robots and artificial intelligence, and the potential threats and problems that this poses. It notes that some scientists believe AI will become indistinguishable from humans and form real relationships. However, others argue that AI is just computation and lacks human qualities like spirituality. The document also examines the Microsoft chatbot Tay, which showed how AI can learn bad behaviors from users. Overall, the key issue is how humans will interact with and teach human-like AI, as our relationship with and programming of robots may shape whether AI becomes helpful or harmful.

Relationship Between Coaches and Student Athletes

2. RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COACHESAND STUDENT ATHLETES 2
The subject of this research will focus on the relationship between college coaches
communication with their student athletes. The proposed research question is: Do college
coaches communicate effectively with their student athletes?
Previous research has found that coaches for team sports show a higher competency
than coaches for individual sports, indicating that coaches for team sports show more
competency in playing their roles for motivation, deciding game strategy, introducing good
coaching techniques, and successfully building character among athletes, (Chiu, Mahat,
Marzuki, Hua, 2014.)
The level of competency that a coach carries effects the way in which student athletes
are able to develop. Chiu, Mahat, Marzuki, and Hua (2014), for the Review of European Studies,
evaluate how the competency level of coaches effect the student athletes achievement
motivation at Higher Educational Institutions (HEI) in sports competitions.
The study was conducted using 332 student athletes chosen from four different
universities. The students were identified by athletic administrators, and chosen from various
sports including team and individual sports and chosen randomly. The study used a Coaching
Competency Scale (CCS) which includes four categories: Motivation competency (MC), game
strategy competency (GSC), techniques competency (TC), and character building competency
(CBC). The study also included the Sport Orientation Questionnaire (SOQ) to measure
achievement motivation among the athletes. This questionnaire was to find three main factors
which were competitiveness, goal, and win orientation using a five point scale for 25 different
3. RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COACHESAND STUDENT ATHLETES 3
items. The students completed the questionnaires and a quantitative approach was used by
two trained research assistants.
The results showed many different variables in coaching competency and the effects
that they have on the student athletes. The study showed that there were no strong
correlations between gender of either the coach or the athlete when the coaches’ competency
was rated high. There was also no gender bias based on the student athletes’ achievement of
his/her sport. The study found that motivation competency of coaches was a significant
contributor to the athletes sport achievement motivation. Chiu, Mahat, Marzuki, and Hua state
that from their study, “it can be implied that coaches who have an ability to affect mood
psychology and skills of athletes likelihood to produce athletes with high achievement
motivation pertaining to their competitiveness, win and goal orientation,”(2014).
The implications of this study show that coaches with a higher rate of competency are
able to have a greater effect on their student athletes’ achievement motivation. The research
lacked what actually went into the coaches’ competency though. It does describe what the
different levels of competency mean for the different categories, however the way in which the
coaches are actually perceived by the athletes are left out. Student athletes are receptive to the
levels of competency that coaches show, and it would be beneficial to explore the way in which
these coaches are actually communicating through these different levels of competency. The
study could be improved upon by analyzing the coaches communication on the field. It could
also be improved by studying the behaviors of these student athletes before, during, and after
games or practices.
