Reign City Fitness, a large CrossFit gym in Bellevue, Washington, was looking for a way to better communicate with potential members to invite questions and keep current members engaged. The gym's owner, Alex Konicke, found it difficult to always be available by phone for questions during busy operations. By using Zipwhip's texting solution, Alex could now receive texts from potential members interested in joining. This allowed half of the 8-12 texts received weekly to convert to new members. It also significantly reduced Alex's time spent on outreach from 1.5 hours to just 15 minutes a day. Zipwhip helped Reign City Fitness grow its community and keep members returning as intended.

Case Study:
Reign City Fitness
Bellevue, Washington | July 2015
Reign City Fitness is home to
Bellevue’s largest CrossFit affiliate,
CrossFit Downpour. Since opening
in November 2014, it has been
dedicated to building a new
community of fitness enthusiasts
who love training hard with the
company of others.
Can I come check
out your gym?
Of course! Do you
want to come by
today?
Alex Konicke, GM and Owner of
Reign City Fitness, can’t always be
near a phone while muli-tasking
daily operations and bringing in
new members. Growing a
community often means
accommodating new potentials’
preferences and understanding
that starting a new gym may be
intimidating. Furthermore, he
wanted to a solution to keep
members coming back. According
to a 2012 survey, 80% of gym
memberships go unused. “Many
people are terrified to come in
because they may not know what
to do." Alex wanted a solution to
invite questions about gym
memberships while also keep them
returning after signing up.
“We get between 8-12 texts a week
from potential clients interested in
joining. Typically, half of those
become members,” says Alex.
Potential clients are more likely to
text for information about their gym
than to call. Texting helped expand
the scope of potential clients while
being a huge time saver. “By relying
more on texting to reach people, I’ve
reduced the time it takes to reach out
from an hour and a half per day to
about 15 minutes.” Reign City Fitness
has successfully avoided the
headache of having to play voice tag.
Zipwhip achieved Alex’s goals of
growing their community and
keeping members coming back in
just a few months.
