Chartwells/Compass Group Regional Director of the Mid Atlantic Region, Greg has worked in
my organization for the past 11 years. Greg was already on board working with Sodexo Inc.
when Chartwells won the Edinboro dining services contract in 2005. When I began evaluating
the staff already in place at Edinboro, it was immediately evident that Greg was capable of
taking on greater responsibilities within the organization. As such, I promoted him to Director of
Resident Dining, and Greg truly lived up to and often exceeded my expectations.
Greg, a dedicated and loyal professional, was employed at a time when an ongoing decline in
student enrollment at Edinboro resulted in the unfortunate layoffs to our core staff. Allow me to
highlight some of Greg’s top achievements in his role of Director of Resident Dining:
 Creatively adjusted and planned new labor schedules for union and non-union associates to
meet budgeted labor costs, despite a major downturn in enrollment and resulting revenues
 Successfully trained 4 production managers who then went on to further careers in the
Chartwells organization
 Developed a relationship with the General McLane School District’s Autistic Support Group to
provide on-site job training skills for high school aged students with special needs
 Excelled at communication with colleagues, staff, various departments on campus and
contracted vendors
