She gainedhandson experience withawide range of animalsincludingcows,sheep,poultry,
reptilesandsmall mammals.She helpedorganise eventssuchasa Halloweenpartyanda Christmas
activityday.She alsohelpedtotraina lambfor a Capel Manor show and learnthow to show and
presentachicken.All ourvolunteerslearn aboutthe 2006 Animal Welfare Actandlearnhow to
applyitto the animalsatthe farm. Everyone takesresponsibilityforthe animals’enclosuresandare
taught howto cleanthemandmake themsuitable forthe animals,everyone learnswhatfoodeach
animal eatsand the olderchildrenlikeErinwere oftenincharge of feedingtimesatthe weekends,
youngpeople involvedinanyanimal presentationsincludingErinhadto learntheirnatural
behaviours.Erinwastrainedonhowto handle small animalsforthe farm’ssmall animal show and
provedtobe confidentandcalmwiththe animals.She wasalwayskeentolearnmore aboutthe
animalsandhelpedone of ouremployeeslamb asheepand assistedavetto vaccinate a sheep.
Erin isa sensible andtrustworthyperson withagreatlove foranimals.
