The Roberts Wesleyan Athletic Department is requesting the appearance of Spike and Mitsy, mascots from the Rochester Red Wings, at their "Meet Reggie and the Mascots of Rochester, NY" community event being held on January 10, 2015 during the men's and women's basketball games. The event will introduce children and fans to mascots from local semi-pro and pro teams through meet and greets, photos, media appearances, and a mascot scrimmage during halftime. It aims to get 150 community members, especially children, involved through mascot interactions and promote the games.

Christians condemn extrajudicial killings
Church workers have criticized local security forces for the killing of foreigners in the restive vicariate, where five Chechen nationals suspected of terrorist activities were killed earlier this year.
“We condemn the inhuman killing of Chechens. The incident requires transparent investigation. The worsening condition of law and order has already alienated local residents from the government,” said a local priest who asked not to be named.
In May, members of the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) and Quetta police killed the five Chechens, who were suspected of being terrorists.
In its investigative report, the judicial tribunal slammed security officers “for resorting to massacre” and showing incompetence and a lack of planning in handling the investigation.
“Due to the callous stupidity of the police and FC personnel, the entire terrorist network remains shrouded in mystery,” the report stated.
Fahim Javed, a local Caritas worker, said that expressing one’s opinion could be a death sentence.
“Continual attacks obstruct our daily lives and destroy our education system. We have been living in a state of emergency for decades,” he said.

A crew of football officials from the MCSOA donated money to support a fundraising event for a Kiel High School freshman student-athlete, Nick Schad, who had been diagnosed with cancer. The crew worked the Kiel vs. Two Rivers football game and presented a donation on behalf of the officials to the Kiel High students organizing fundraising efforts for Nick Schad and his family. The officials hoped their donation and participation in the event showed the support and commitment of the officials' association.

CCCC offers students many clubs and organizations to join that host events like Spring Fling and the Christmas Tree Lighting to make campus vibrant. Students can find active clubs on the website or contact Samantha Carroll to start a new club. Special events are also held each semester across CCCC's campuses, as listed on posters, emails and the events calendar. CCCC has 6 NJCAA athletic programs in Region X, including men's and women's basketball and cross country, volleyball, and golf, and students are encouraged to support the Central Carolina Cougars teams.
