Red Fort was built in the 17th century on the banks of the Yamuna River in Delhi. It served as the seat of power for the Mughal Empire for over 200 years, witnessing periods of turmoil and the establishment of an independent Indian republic. Shah Jahan chose the site for its central location in his empire and to design a palace blending Persian, Mughal, European, and Indian architectural styles. Construction began in 1639 based on advice from Hindu and Muslim scholars that the site and date were astrologically auspicious. India was united for the first time within Red Fort's walls in 1857 and in 1947 when Nehru hoisted the Indian flag, marking the country's independence.

Yamuna.
And yes, we have some unique ideas like multi-foliated arches, perfect symmetry, perfection of Petruda,
ballista column etc. and no doubt this will be a masterpiece and will remain as one of the greatest
human constructions of all the time.

moment we take the pledge of dedication to the service of India and her people and to the still larger

are filled with her striving and the grandeur of her success and her failures. Through good and ill fortune
alike she has never lost sight of that quest or forgotten the ideals which gave her strength. We end today
a period of ill fortune and India discovers herself again.
The achievement we celebrate today is but a step, an opening of opportunity, to the greater triumphs
and achievements that await us. Are we brave enough and wise enough to grasp this opportunity and
accept the challenge of the future? Peace has been said to be indivisible; so is freedom, so is prosperity
now, We have to build the noble mansion of free India where all her children may dwell.
