Storage of cytotoxic drugs (against cancer) in landfills can cause groundwater
contamination : prefer incineration
Expired drugs destruction in non-specialized plants causes a sustainable air
contamination. Cytotoxic substances in the air and water have several known
effects on health (OMS source):
cytotoxic substances action is not selective. They attack all cells, even healthy
cells
Renal and hepatic toxicity, cardiotoxicity, immunotoxicity, pulmonary toxicity.
Most cytotoxic agents have been associated with reproductive disorders.
Some people are particularly affected: children, pregnant women and elderly.

pharmacists and laboratories...
Expired medicines often have been found on parallel markets and disturb
pharmacists by introducing illegal competition.
The purchase of drugs in these illegal channels may cause significant risks
to consumers health.
Expired drugs trafficking go beyond borders. According to the
International Federation of the medicine industries, drug illegal trade
would be 25 times more profitable than heroïn trade.
This traffic can become a source of discord between neighboring
countries and can cause diplomatic difficulties.

Movements of wastes between countries are regulated by Basel
Convention of 22 March 1989. All wastes imports in Europe to destroy must
be authorized by the importer / exporter and transit countries.
The authorization process is led by RECYCLAMED experts who have over 15
years experience in that field.
All wastes movements to destruction have to scrupulously follow the
dictated process Regulation (EC) No 1013/2006 of the European Parliament
and of the Council 14 June 2006 amended by regulations (EC) n°
1379/2007 of 26 November 2007 and no. 308/2009 April 15, 2009.

• Validation / witness is made by RECYCLAMED auditor, on site, in order to validate the Bill of
