Recticel India pvt Opening
1. Recticel India Pvt. Ltd. officially inaugurated
On Sunday, November 13, 2011, the new conversion plant of Recticel Flexible Foams in
Mumbai was officially inaugurated.
India is one of the fastest
growing economies
worldwide with a predicted
average GDP growth of 6%
for the next 10 to 20 years
and a huge potential
industrial and consumer
market. Recticel Flexible
Foams will trade and
convert mainly technical
flexible polyurethane
foams for the local market.
The 6000m² plant which is located in Taloja, Navi Mumbai, close to the Nhava Shiva port of
Mumbai, will be equipped with state of the art conversion machinery (cutting, profiling,
laminating, compressing and more) to service different market segments with high
technological foam solutions.
While Recticel is already market leader in India for air filter foams in the automotive sector,
it will also focus on other profitable technical segments such as acoustics.
The official opening ceremony, which took place onsite, was attended by a large delegation
of Flemish officials, led by the Flemish Minister President Kris Peeters and Karl Van den
Bossche, Consul-General of Belgium in Mumbai in the presence of many Indian business
relations.
2. The delegation was welcomed
by Filip Goris, Regional Manager
Asia and Latin-America. After
the ribbon cutting and the
traditional Hindu “Pooja”
inauguration ceremony, the
delegation and other invitees
were invited to the roof top
terrace for a reception and
walking lunch buffet.
Filip Goris thanked all of those who helped in setting up this new entity in India, and
foremost the first hour employees of Recticel India Pvt. Ltd.: Abhijit Diwadkar (General
Manager), Ashok Singh Sain (Business Development Manager Mumbai), Vijay Kumar
(Business Development Manager Bangalore), Deepak Sawant (Finance Manager) and Aparna
Munjewar (Sales Support Officer).
3. The Flemish Minister President Peeters on his turn
praised Recticel for its pioneering and proactive approach
in India, setting an example for other Flemish companies
pursuing growth opportunities.
The opening celebration, organised by Helga Laporte,
International Business Development Manager, was
covered extensively in the Belgian media. It was shown
three times in prime time news broadcasts and articles
appeared both online and in the written press. See below
