The European Capitals and Cities of Sport Federation (ACES Europe) annually awards municipalities across Europe with titles related to sport. ACES Europe's titles recognize cities that promote sport to foster social integration and citizens' well-being. The recommendation letter is for Ms. Ruzan Hovakimyan who worked as an interpreter and hostess for ACES Europe's visit to Yerevan, Armenia in October 2014. To whom it may concern,
ACES Europe is the official body responsible for assigning every year the titles of ‘European
Capital’, ‘City’, and ‘Town’, and ‘Community’ of Sport to municipalities across Europe. ACES
Europe awards its titles as a tool for promoting sport in European cities and as recognition for the
role of sport in fostering social integration, improvement in the quality of life and well-being of
citizens, and inclusion of disadvantaged groups in society.
The initiative of the European Capitals, Cities, and Towns of Sport is aimed at rewarding and
further promoting the implementation of solid sport policies by local bodies responsible for
delivering sport services to local citizens.
In the context of my visit to Yerevan from the 10th
to the 13th
October 2014 for its International
Conference and celebration of its 2796th
Anniversary, I was supported by Ms. Ruzan
Hovakimyan in her capacity as Interpreter and Hostess of our organization during our stay.
In all three days of the event, Ms. Hovakimyan took part in directly supporting the activities of
Yerevan Municipality in hosting us and our fellow guests of the foreign delegation to Yerevan.
Despite the short period of time in which I met Ruzan, she was already able to impress and
demonstrate us with her multiple skills.
In a very professional and competent manner, Ruzan supported the execution of whichever task
was necessary of her to ensure our smooth transfer from our place of arrival as well as from and
to other host venues, in addition to guiding us successfully through the conference and cultural
programme with her enthusiasm and excellent knowledge of Yerevan’s and Armenia’s local and
national heritage, not to mention with her impeccable command and use of the English language.
Ruzan rapidly attracted our affection with her excellent work, motivation, language skills and
interest in assisting us, not to mention her friendly and agreeable way of being. It is my pleasure
to recommend Ruzan for future internship and job spots opportunities.
