Maksim Nazarenko will graduate from Texas A&M University with a Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering in 2014. Professor Ding Zhu recommends Maksim highly based on his experience teaching and advising him. Maksim worked extremely hard to complete his degree in one year as an international student, developing a useful production decline analysis tool. He was a pleasant, respectful student who helped his fellow students and a visiting scholar. Professor Zhu believes Maksim has the qualities needed for a successful career in the oil and gas industry.

Professor Honhon wrote a recommendation for me after I audited her Operations Practicum course in 2008. This was related to supply chain work which my work group completed for Frito Lay North America.

To whom it concerns,
I would like to use this opportunity to recommend Mr. Maksim Nazarenko. Maksim will graduate from
Petroleum Engineering Department at Texas A&M University with a Master of Science Degree in 2014. I
got to know Mr. Maksim Nazarenko when he first joined our department as an international student. With
many outstanding peers from all over the world, Maksim has a unique challenge - he has the limited time
of one year to finish his graduate study. As a foreign student, he also faces the challenge of mastering
English. Maksim took the challenge and worked so hard to accomplish the goal. He participated in class
with a positive attitude and contributed to the discussion with his field experiences. He respected the
professors and presented himself as a mature professional. I taught him production engineering, and enjoyed
the conversations we had during the class and after hours. He was serious about the technical content and
never satisfied just finishing the homework or making good grades on tests. He came to learn and to share,
and he brought a positive impact to our graduate program.
Because of his professional attitude and hard work, Maksim was able to finish his MS degree research
project in a single year. It usually takes average of two years for most of our students. He developed a very
useful tool for production decline analysis. The tool can effectively evaluate the formation properties and
diagnose production problems. I am impressed with his research outcome, and I am sure the tool he
developed will help any company he works for, and beyond.
Maksim is a pleasant person and gets along with his fellow students. He also is also willing to help others.
Once I had a visiting scholar from his home country, Russia. Maksim offered so much help to the visitor
from getting around in College Station to research facility available in the university. This made the visit
of my scholar successful. I am grateful for what he did to help.
In summary, I believe that Mr. Maksim Nazarenko has the quality our industry needs and will be a good
addition to anyone he works for in the future. I strongly recommend him without reservations. Please feel
free to contact me if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Ding Zhu
