Cai O'Connell has done excellent work during her virtual internship with the U.S. Consulate in Yekaterinburg. She has managed a virtual English discussion club that attracts adults and students from across the Urals region. Participants have praised Cai's diligence and ability to control discussion and provide speaking time to all. In addition, Cai has helped with numerous research requests, locating information for a film festival celebrating literature and identifying quotes for a Black History month speaking contest. The letter writer appreciated Cai's professionalism and dedication during the internship.

Cherokee Trail of Tears Lessons, Activities, Materials and Videos
I have spent the last two weeks researching, reviewing and gathering these important lessons and activities about the Cherokee Trail of Tears removal which occurred in the late 1830’s, from their original homelands east of the Mississippi to Oklahoma. I have also gathered and put together 70 supporting documents, images and videos, so that everything is here are quickly accessible for viewing and download. Many of these documents are no longer easily found online, as I had to look in archives and other locations to get these together. I hope this helps teach and convey the important topics and subject matter that our students need to learn about this tragic event in our U.S. History.

Using Online Social Networks (Ning) to Improve English Language Learning

CEC ANNUAL REPORT 2015
The Community English Club held many successful activities in 2015 to improve members' English skills and help the community. They organized regular meetups, contests, and events. They also ran two ongoing projects - Bookworm's Corner library and the Vietnam Skype Project for online English practice. Additionally, CEC held a volunteer summer camp for underprivileged children. Overall, CEC achieved its goals of advancing members' English abilities while also reaching out to benefit the local community.
Connecting learning
In a mobile, digital age how can students be connected to learning? This session will discuss how students are connecting outside school hours and the implications for learning in the classroom. Access to digital learning resources, catering for students with varying abilities, personalised learning, monitoring and reporting progress, group and individual activities and professional learning for teachers will all be discussed.
Using Online Social Networks (Ning) to Improve English Language Learning

- 1. May 5, 2015 To whom it may concern: Cai O’Connell has done excellent work during her virtual internship with the U.S. Consulate in Yekaterinburg, and I have greatly appreciated her support. During the course of her internship, she has managed a virtual English discussion club that attracts adults and students from across the Urals region and encourages them to practice spoken English twice a week. Participants have praised Cai’s work and noted her diligence and preparation for clubs. They have commented that they were impressed by Cai’s ability to control the discussion and provide speaking time and feedback to all participants. In addition, Cai has helped with numerous research requests during her internship, demonstrating her breadth of skills and ability to participate on a range of topics.
