Google Buzz was a social networking service from Google that allowed users to share updates or comments and follow friends' updates in a similar way to Twitter. It was automatically connected to Gmail and would import users' contacts to help them connect with friends. However, it faced criticism for privacy issues and was discontinued in 2011 in favor of Google+ which addressed those concerns.
