The documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, by Al Gore is an eye opener and also a
wake up call for me And its very interesting, I have heard about global warming before,
probably back in grade school but I knew a little about it or I only knew the meaning of the
term global warming. The documentary gave me a deeper understanding of what global
warming really is and what will be the consequences if we do not do something about it. The
way the documentary is presented is very effective. Al Gore defined and described global
2. warming in a way a non-science-loving-environmentalist-geek would understand. Most
likely, that would be the reason why it won so many awards. The movie was totally great but
was really abstruse. It had so many twists and so many explanations which was making it
slightly boring for we had difficulty on comprehending on the story and the message it was
trying to assert. We people must take care of what we have, especially our only home, the
planet which had the ability to grow and is capable of giving everything in existence, the one
and only Earth. Earth’s nature is the most precious gift that God has given us, so in return, we
must take good care of it and not ignoring its climate crisis.
Based on the movie, it the facts of the differences of Earth’s topography and nature
nowadays compared to the times long ago. The differences of the facts were caused by this
intriguing global warming that alarmed all the people in the world. This global warming is the
result of the gradual increase of greenhouse gases in the ozone layer, thus trapping the sun’s
heat in the earth’s atmosphere because it does not only give you information about global
warming but also it will awaken you to take good care of our mother earth. It clearly showed
the environmental conditions our planet is facing. Part of the reason why I like it was that
Gore presents a powerful message that combines factual information, humor and, ultimately,
hopes. I really like how Al Gore relates his life story with what was happening in the earth,
especially global warming. I was shocked that there was already big increase on carbon dioxide
emission. I don't like the fact that he put some issues in politics, especially on what happened
in 2000 presidential election in America . The global warming issue was properly and well
explained by giving so animations, graphics, and video clips. I realized how much we take our
actions for granted, never giving any thought if those actions will have negative impact on
the environment. I really like what he said in the documentary, “We no longer have much
time left to change, but we do have time.” I was awakened by the documentary and it made
me feel that it's our time to secure our future. I learned that if we are humane enough about
the issue of global warming, we must encourage ourselves to make the change. Indeed, An
Inconvenient Truth hits sharp and it hits hard. If you love our mother earth, watch it. No
wait, don't just watch it, do something. Start making changes, to save the earth for ourselves
and the next generation who will inherit it. For me, for what I have seen during the "film
showing time". The movie says that the "inconvenient" truth or we may say "cumbersome"
truth can't be averted or in some other words, eschewed. I like the cartoon part of the movie,
the one when the little girl was about to lick her ice cream when suddenly then it melted
without even tasting a bit of it. It was caused by so much of the global warming or the
NUMBER ONE problem that the earth is now facing. Greenhouse gas was also the primary
reason why sunbeams can't escape because it stops or blocks them. So it makes the earth
3. warmer and then sooner it will almost burn the earth because of the great heat that the sun is
giving. And what keeps the earth cool before, of what we call the ozone layer is now very
thin and was caused by much emission of the factories and cars such as smoke belching and
everything.
Everything’s not yet too late. We can still have the chance to solve this climate crisis
such as planting more trees, use electricity less, use water less, use cars less, and especially
supporting any environment solutions. Because of this movie, I now learned what is global
warming very clearly and made me alert on this problem because I only know very little
about this and I thought it is just not that troublesome in our lives. I hope this movie will be
widely watched and embrace people to work up on this climate crisis. Lastly, all I can say is
“Spread the word”.
