This document discusses recycled concrete aggregate and provides an analysis of experimental results comparing the properties of concrete with different replacement ratios of natural coarse aggregate with recycled coarse aggregate. It finds that regardless of the replacement ratio, recycled aggregate concrete performed satisfactorily and did not differ significantly from control concrete made with only natural aggregate. However, it notes quality recycled aggregate and production rules must be followed. The document also discusses the large and growing amounts of construction and demolition waste in India, initiatives to recycle this waste, and the need for national policies and standards to better enable recycling and use of recycled concrete aggregate.
