Here I was responsible for bring madness into the promos for Hungama TV. I wrote and edited
really funny and bizarre promos. I had to be cute and friendly like Doraemon and naughty like
Shinchan. Guided fellow producers to choose the route of the promos. I produced the shoot based
promo of Princess Academy winner in Hong Kong Disneyland.
My responsibilities included understanding the content and setting the tone of communication
according to the brand positioning, both in the script as well as visual, in the promo. I worked closely
with the graphics and outsourced artists, in briefing and shaping the design/artwork. I wrote and edited
the first look of the channel launch. I supervised scripts and edits of junior and fellow producers.
It was at the very initial stage of the film when we had just the character designs, a few basic space
references, and a story. I got full liberty from the director to go wild and explore various cinematic
representations while doing the boards. Along with storyboards, I also designed secondary characters
and worked upon the costume colour variations on few of the main characters.
This was my first industry exposure. I was part of Primesite. My role was to bring the concept into the
3D space. I worked on clients like Asian Paints, Mumbai Metro, Lehar 7up, Zapak.com.
I taught Design Drawing to Post Graduate Animation students and helped the Animation Coordinator in
designing the entrance test question paper for the year 2006. After my first module, I was called again
to teach the course to the Foundation and the PG Furniture design students. I taught Design Drawing in
IICD, Jaipur as well. I learned that, in teaching, one needs to motivate the students a lot, along with
teaching the subject and sharing one’s experience.
This project was very interesting and challenging due to the limitation on the visual representation of
Sikh gurus. We digitally painted 600 dpi files, one inch of the digital file being equal to one foot of
painting. As the paintings were a part of light and sound show, we had to paint keeping the physical
light in mind.
