At my invitation Rauikau Rostami participated in the University of Auckland Business School’s
Women’s Mentoring Programme in 2014. This elite programme matches the School’s female
students (mentees) with mentors who are drawn from our vast business networks.
Only a select few are identified and in order to meet the selection criteria mentees must have shown
a high level of sustained academic performance and a strong commitment to student life, voluntary
work or other extra‐curricular activities.
Throughout the Programme Rauikau has shown a high level of commitment and has actively engaged
in the full range of opportunities which formed part of the wider programme including guest speaker
events, career development workshops and networking activities.
I have no doubt that Rauikau commitment to the programme will have helped her develop a broad
range of transferable skills and will greatly assist her personal and professional development in the
following areas;
 Preparing for the transition from university to full‐time employment
 Relating theoretical studies to current business practice and obtaining an insight into a range
of industries.
