This document describes a novel approach to feeding a microstrip patch antenna using a waveguide. Traditional feeding techniques for microstrip antennas like coaxial probes and microstrip lines have limitations at high frequencies. Using a waveguide can overcome these limitations by taking advantage of the waveguide's properties at high frequencies. The proposed design combines a waveguide and microstrip patch antenna. Simulation results show the waveguide-fed microstrip patch antenna resonates at 2.4 GHz with a return loss of -23.27 dB and gain of 7.05 dB. This feeding technique provides advantages like higher power handling capability and better performance at high frequencies compared to traditional feeding methods.
