Golden Balls Golden Balls was a British daytime game show on the ITV Network, presented by Jasper Carrott. It was filmed at the BBC Television Centre. From 25 February 2008 to 13 February 2009, the show was sponsored by ITV Bingo. Golden Balls Ltd licensed their name to Endemol for the game show and merchandise as a relation to Deal or No Deal. At the end of each episode, contestants play a one-shot Prisoner’s Dilemma for large and widely ranging stakes averaging over $20,000. Cooperation decreases somewhat with the stakes, but remains around 45 percent even for the highest stakes games. Stakes do not appear to affect the behavior of people that have an occupational interest in a cooperative and trustworthy reputation.
